Abstract:
The autonomic nerve regulating agent of the present invention, which has a sedative action, sleep inducing action, and stress mitigating action in individuals, regardless of individual variation in sensitivity to or preference for fragrance, contains as an active ingredient a sesquiterpene alcohol with a boiling point of 250 DEG C or higher, particularly cedrol.

Abstract:
Provided is a bath agent composition capable of satisfactorily exhibiting blood circulation promoting effect by generating carbon dioxide gas by comprising a carbonate and an organic acid therein and capable of satisfactorily exhibiting an additional effect by imparting high preservation stability. The bath agent composition comprises the following components: (A) a carbonate comprising 30 mass% or more of a dialkali metal carbonate (A1); (B) an organic acid; and (C) a CGRP response promoter.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate a conspicuity of pores with high reproducibility. SOLUTION: The conspicuity of the pores is evaluated by making measurement data on a shape of an interface between the epidermis-dermis of an epidermal structure around the pores serve as an evaluation parameter for evaluating the conspicuity of the pores. In terms of the evaluation parameter, a plurality of images different in measurement depth are acquired as to the pore and a region around them by using a confocal laser scanning microscope. In the images, an islandlike region, which is composed of the dermis, appears in an epidermal region around the pores as the measurement depth gets greater; the islandlike region gets larger as the measurement depth gets further greater; and the image, wherein the outside of the emidermal region including the islandlike region serves as a dermal region, is found out. In the image, an area (area S of a dermal papillae forming region) surrounded by the dermal region can be used. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomic nerve regulating agent exhibiting sedative action and the like to a person in a condition of excessively sympathetic nerve ascendant and, conversely, exhibiting actions of returning physiologically most suitable conditions to a person in a condition of excessively parasympathetic nerve ascendant, regardless of individual variation in sensitivity to or preference for fragrance. SOLUTION: The autonomic nerve regulating agent, a sleep improver and a stress relaxing agent, each containing a sesquiterpene alcohol having ≥250°C boiling point individually and having odor practically lower than a threshold level. As the sesquiterpene alcohol, cedrol is preferable. The autonomic nerve regulating agent can be applied to sundries such as an indoor fragrance and a mask, and several kinds of fiber products including seat covers, bedclothes, wall paper, interior materials and clothes. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to form an image of a skin structure with which a vascular network can be observed in a high resolution image of the skin structure and also changes in blood flow volume in the vascular network can be observed.SOLUTION: The method captures a laser microscopic moving image of skin, forms plural luminance difference images between frames of the moving image, adds up the luminance difference images, and thereby forms an image of blood flow. The method further combines the image of the blood flow and a confocal laser reflection microscopic image of the same region as the image of the blood flow, and thereby shows the image of the blood flow in the skin structure.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and highly reliably determine melanin in a viable tissue without injuring the viable tissue. SOLUTION: A melanin distribution visualizing method is the method for visualizing a melanin distribution by allowing the attenuation curve of auto-fluorescence in melanin existing in the viable tissue to approach a secondary attenuation curve through the use of a device, which planarly irradiates the prescribed depth of the viable tissue with a laser beam by planar scanning, and receives the auto-fluorescence from the tissue, and then, determining coefficients τ1 and τ2 concerning a fluorescent life and coefficients A 1 and A 2 concerning amplitude with respect to the fluorescent life. The method is characterized by setting 12-33 thresholds in A 1 /A 2 , and determining the fluorescence exceeding the thresholds to be the fluorescence caused by melanin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow even an ordinary person to noninvasively and easily evaluate the condition of her skin, such as the degree of fatigue, etc. SOLUTION: Laser beams are made to simultaneously impinge on a plurality of measuring points on the skin, and the laser beams reflected from the skin are received and converted into blood flow signals. Signals corresponding to two or more specific frequency bandwidths are extracted from the blood flow signals, and the signal strengths which correspond to the different frequency bandwidths are compared with each other to evaluate the condition of the skin.
