    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide the titled UV-absorbent containing a dibenzoylmethane derivative as an active component, capable of absorbing ultraviolet radiation having long wavelength, protecting the skin and preventing the aging of the skin and the formation of spots and freckles, safe to the skin, and absorbable easily through the skin.
    CONSTITUTION: The objective agent contains the dibenzoylmethane derivative of formula [X is H, univalent metal cation, organic cation, 1W24C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, or polyoxy(2W3C)alkylene oxide group; Y and Z are hydroxyl, 1W24C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, 1W24C alkoxy, or polyoxy(2W3C)alkylene oxide; m and n are 0W3] as an active component. The amount of the derivative in the composition is generally 0.1W20wt%, preferably 0.5W10wt%. It is preferably used as a normal antisuntan cosmetic by combining with other UV absorbent which absorbs ultraviolet radiation having medium wavelength (320W290nm).
