    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin preparation for external use having excellent substance P antagonist activities especially for skin, and further having high safety, and useful for improving symptom of various kinds of dermatosis by including a specific plant or an extract thereof. SOLUTION: This skin preparation for external use includes one or more kinds of plants selected from among Eucommia ulmoides, Eclipta prostrata and leaf of Phyllostachys nigra, or an extract thereof. The extract is preferably a water fraction obtained by extracting the plant with water and/or water-soluble organic solvent and fractionating the extract with water and ethyl acetate. A daily dose of the objective skin preparation for external use is preferably 10-5,000mg per adult in terms of the dried weight of the extract and administered by dividing to 1-4 times.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cell adhesion-suppressing composition, capable of controlling intercellular adhesion and cellular interaction through cell adhesion molecules and useful as an immunosuppressant, a metastasis controlling agent, etc., by compounding KIZITU (fruit of Citrus aurantium) as an active component. SOLUTION: The composition is composed of KIZITU and/or an extract of KIZITU as an active component. KIZITU is a crude medicine obtained by drying an unripe or ripe fruit of a plant belonging to the genus Citrus of Rutaceae or its relative plant, i.e., Citrus trifoliata rafin, orange, etc., as it its or after cut into two pieces, etc. The extract of KIZITU is obtained by extracting the above fruits with water and/or various kinds of organic solvent (e.g. petroleum ether, n-hexane or cyclohexane). Further, a common daily compounding or administration dose of the composition as an active component in preferably 0.1-2,000mg for an adult.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a cell-anchoring inhibitor, metastasis inhibitor, antiallergic agent and immunosuppressive agent containing, as active ingredients, the plants or extracts therefrom selected from the followings: Stellaria neglecta, Aqrimonia pilsoa, Hydrangea macrophylla, Artemigiacapillaris, Euphorbia kansui, Agastache rugosa, Glechoma hederacea, Matricaria chamomila, Euphorbia lathyris, Spirodela ployrhiza, Mentha haplocalyx and Isodom japonicus. CONSTITUTION: This cell-anchoring inhibitor, metastasis inhibitor, antiallergic agent or immunosuppressive agent contains as active ingredients, the whole body, leaves, petioles, branch roots of the following plants, as they are, or dried, crushed or extracted products: Artemigiacapillaris, Euphorbia kansui, Agastache rugosa, Glechoma hederacea, Matricaria chamomila, Euphorbia lathyris, Spirodela ployrhiza, Mentha haplocalyx and Isodom japonicus. The extraction is preferably carried out by extracting the crushed products the whole bodies or parts of these plants with water or an organic solvent at 3-70 deg.C. This medicine can be widely used in treatment and prophylaxis for cancer, asthma, allergic rhinitis, gout, psoriasis, urticaria, rheumatism, pollinosis, periodontal diseases, ischemic reperfusion disorder, acute respiratory distress syndrome, autoimmune diseases, acute alveolar disorder and the like.
