    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent deformation in a high temperature environment by forming a top half, bottom half, lid, slider and window which comprise a tape cassette, with a resin having special properties. CONSTITUTION:Among the component parts which comprise the tape cassette, the top half 2, bottom half 3, lid 5, slider 6 and window 8 are formed with the resin having properties of 8mum or less penetration in the test in which a piece of resin is pressed with a 0.7mm diameter pin with 50g load, under the environment of 100 deg.C for 5 hours, and then measured for the penetration of the pin into the resin. Consequently, the tape cassette is not deformed by heat even if it is left in the high temperature environment where the temperature goes up nearly 100 deg.C, and it may be loaded into a drive to run the tape after being exposed to such environment.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic recording medium having an excellent lubricity and durability by incorporating a metallic salt of fatty acid and carbon black having a specific average single particle diameter in a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The metallic salts of 12-18C higher fatty acids such as Zn stearate, Ba stearate, Ca stearate, and Al, oleic acid are used 3-15 pts.wt. for 100 pts.wt. of magnetic powder. Also the average single particle diameter of the carbon black is 0.2-1.0mum, and is preferably in a range of 3-1.0mum and the carbon black is used 3-15 pts.wt. for 100 pts.wt. of the magnetic powder. The magnetic powder is an acicular fine gamma-Fe2O3, or a Co doped gamma-Fe2O3, etc., and as the binder polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride, etc., are used and 15-60 pts.wt. of it are used for 100 pts.wt. of the magnetic powder.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a still durability and an electrification proofness to be increased for high-density recording by cladding an alumina thin film which originates in alumina sol on a surface of a magnetic layer when forming the magnetic layer on a non-magnetic support as a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic layer is formed on a non-magnetic support consisting of polyethylene telephthalate, etc., furthermore, an alumina thin film with a thickness of approximately 0.01 to 1mum is adhered on this surface. When this is to be clad, a colloid-shaped alumina with a particle diameter of approximately 20 to 200Angstrom is used for coating. However, in the case of calendar treatment, a silica sol of a maximum of 25wt.% may be contained to reduce a heat treatment temperature. Also, normal needle-shaped minute gamma-Fe2O3, Fe-Co, etc., are used as a magnetic powder which is used for a medium and polyurethane resin, polyester resin, etc., are used as a binder. Also, a dispersant, a lubricant, an abrasive, a rust-proof agent, and a mold-proof agent may be added as additives.

CONSTITUTION:Among the component parts of the tape cassette, the top half 2, bottom half 3, lid 5, slider 6 and window 8 are formed with the resin having properties of 8mum or less penetration in the test in which a piece of resin is pressed with a 0.7mm diameter pin with 50g load, under the environment of 100 deg.C for 5 hours, and then measured for the penetration of the pin into the resin. And, the electrical resistance of the surfaces of the parts is made smaller than 1X10 ohms/square. Consequently, the tape cassette is durable and not deformed by heat in the environment of high temperature, much dust and dirt, and the danger of read errors due to the attachment of dust, dirt, etc., is eliminated.
