    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject detergent which shows excellent physical properties, e.g. spread on skin, viscosity and the like, along with the excellent detergency and is inexpensive and excellent in the preservative stability by including a gelatinized starch and a nonionic surfactant in a specific proportion. SOLUTION: The objective detergent is obtained by including (A) 0.1-10 wt.% of a gelatinized starch, (B) 0.5-50 wt.% of a nonionic surfactant and (C), when necessary, an aqueous viscosity-increasing agent, a moisturizer, a medicine, an antiseptic, a stabilizer to oxidation, a pearl agent, a washing base or a foaming agent. As the starch, tapioca starch or potato starch is preferably used. As the component B, e.g. an 8-20C monoglyceride (ethoxylate), an 8-20C higher fatty acid sugar ester or the like is preferably used. It is favorable that the component B is contained in an amount of 20 wt.% or more, preferably 30 wt.% or more or particularly 50 wt.% or more, based on the component A.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a makeup-removing agent having an excellent makeup- removing force, a good touch and a good water rinsing property by adding a glycerol polyoxyalkylene glycol monoester or monoether. SOLUTION: This makeup-removing agent contains a glycerol-α- polyoxyalkylene glycol monoester and/or monoether of the formula [R is a 6-24C aliphatic hydrocarbon or a 6-24C aliphatic acyl; A is a 2-4C alkylene; (n) is 1-100] (for example, glycerol-α-polyoxyethylene glycol monocaprylic acid ester) preferably in an amount of 1-80 wt.% based on the whole amount of the agent. The agent may, if necessary, be mixed with a surfactant, a moisturizing agent, an oil, a UV light absorbent, a perfume, an aromatic agent, a pigment, a dye, an opacifier, a salt, etc., and may be formed in either of oily, creamy, jelly, emulsion-like and lotion-like preparations, etc.
