Abstract: Liquid deodorants appropriate for deodorizing space and fiber products and hair cosmetics and skin cosmetics having high deodorizing effects. These hair cosmetics and skin cosmetics may be those called body deodorants. Namely, deodorants containing deodorizable organic dibasic acids comprising organic dibasic acids and/or salts thereof which show a difference between a first acid dissociation index and a second acid dissociation index at 25 DEG C of at least 1.7.

PROCESS:A diester of formula III is sulfonated with an acid sulfite or metasulfite or a mixture thereof at 50-200 deg.C, preferably 70-150 deg.C, to give the aimed compound of formula I or II. The reaction surfactant of this invention is used in an amount of 0.1-40wt%, preferably 0.2-30wt%, in copolymers.
