Abstract: The device has a guiding rail (5) that is connected with a sliding door and cooperates with a drive unit. The drive unit cooperates with a toothed belt (8) arranged in the guiding rail such that a locking unit (48) makes possible fixing and loosening of the toothed belt with respect to the guiding rail. The drive unit is arranged with a coupling unit, which forms a frictional resistance for an output gear that cooperates with the toothed belt in an uncoupled condition.
