An apparatus and a method for synchronizing left/right streams in a fixed/mobile convergence 3DTV are disclosed. The apparatus, according to one embodiment of the present invention, synchronizes content streams which correspond to a left image and a right image by using (i) timestamp pairing, (ii) timestamp offsetting, and (iii) NTP synchronization.

Provided are a method and apparatus for determining a video compression standard in a 3DTV service. The method for determining a video compression standard comprises encoding high-quality video, and transmitting the encoded video through channel 1, determining a video compression standard in which the resolution of encoded low-quality video compared to the resolution of encoded high-quality video is the same as or higher than a standard value, and encoding the low-quality video in accordance with the determined video compression standard and transmitting the encoded low-quality video through channel 2. In a channel equalizer applicable to a digital television receiver, a forward filter and a backward filter perform filtering to an input signal and a predetermined signal. A Viterbi decoder corrects errors during a transmission procedure in a blind mode. A training symbol storing block stores training symbols. An output signal of the Viterbi decoder and symbols are provided to the backward filter in accordance with a blind mode or a training mode. A Kalman gain is calculated in a Kalman gain calculating block and an error signal is calculated by comparing an equalized signal, symbols, and the output signal of the Viterbi decoder with one another. A tap coefficient is updated by using the calculated error signal and the Kalman gain.

PURPOSE: A police work support apparatus and method thereof are provided to support the fast decision of a field worker in a crime scene by providing evidence analysis functions and field information process functions to a portable terminal of the field worker. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(110) transmits and receives data with a smart server and other portable terminals for outside works. An update processor(120) synchronizes outside work support information with information stored in the smart server through the communication unit. A service management unit(130) manages the operation of a work procedure template and a standard work procedure template for supporting the outside works.
