The present invention relates to a relay apparatus for transmitting ancillary data and to a method for same, and particularly, to a relay apparatus for transmitting ancillary data for a terrestrial digital television broadcast and to a method for same. The apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a relay apparatus for relaying a digital broadcast (DTV) signal containing ancillary data; a receiving and processing unit for receiving the ancillary data and DTV signal via a receiving antenna, down-converting the received signal into an intermediate frequency (IF) signal, and demodulating the IF signal; an equalizing unit for removing noise and a multipath signal from the signal output from the receiving and processing unit, and outputting the resulting signal; an ancillary data extraction unit for extracting the ancillary data from the signal output from the equalizing unit, and outputting the extracted ancillary data; an adder for adding the output from the ancillary data extraction unit to the DTV signal output from the equalization unit; and a transmitting and processing unit for modulating the output from the adder, up-converting the modulated output into a transmitting RF band, amplifying the transmitting power, and transmitting the amplified power via a transmitting antenna.

An apparatus for transmitting broadcasting content including a control signal in a broadcasting network, the apparatus includes: a modulator configured to modulate broadcasting content by a predetermined modulation method; a control signal generator configured to generate a control signal for remote control of infrastructure; an adder configured to add the control signal to the modulated broadcasting content; and a DTV transmitter configured to convert the added signal to a DTV broadcasting signal and transmit the DTV broadcasting signal.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for transceiving a broadcast signal in a digital broadcast system. The method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the following steps: generating a main signal using main data; generating an additional signal, the power of which is lower than that of the main signal, using a plurality of additional data; generating an additional signal frame using the additional signal and a frame header; and generating a broadcast signal using the main signal and an additional signal frame. The frame header is used in selectively extracting the plurality of additional data from the additional signal frame. According to the present invention, additional data can be efficiently transmitted while maintaining compatibility with existing digital broadcasting systems.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing a plurality of transport interactive 3DTV broadcasting services in the provision of higher definition 3D video service and 3D data service, while maintaining the compatibility with the existing digital TV broadcasts or 3DTV services. To this end, an input 3D video is encoded to generate a 3D additional video base stream and a 3D additional video enhanced stream. Engineer information for defining engineers, which includes 3D broadcasting service configuration information, is generated, and then an encoded 2D base video stream, an encoded audio stream, the encoded 3D additional video base stream and the engineer information are multiplexed and transmitted via a base layer. The 3D additional video enhanced stream is multiplexed and transmitted via an enhanced layer.

Provided is a modulating apparatus and method of an on-channel repeater. An object of the present invention is to provide a modulating apparatus of an on-channel repeater for reducing time delay by configuring and up-sampling a baseband signal, filtering the up-sampled baseband signal with an Equi-Ripple (ER) filter or in a window method, and converting the filtered baseband signal into an RF signal. The modulating apparatus includes: a baseband signal configuring unit for configuring a baseband. signal by combining an input field and a segment sync signal; a pilot adding unit for adding a pilot signal to the baseband signal; a filtering unit for filtering the baseband signal with the pilot signal; and an RF up-converting unit for up-converting the filtered signal into an RF signal. The present invention is used to form an on-channel repeating network in a transmitting system including a digital TV broadcasting system.

Provided are an on-channel repeater and a method thereof. The repeater receives signals on one channel and distributes the signals on the same channel by converting RF signals from a main transmitter into baseband signals; equalizing them in a high-performance equalizer; adding a repeater identifier to them; modulating the baseband signals with the repeater identifier into RF signals. The repeater includes: a receiver for receiving RF signals; a demodulator for demodulating the RF signals into baseband signals; an equalizer for equalizing the baseband signals; an adder for adding a repeater identifier to the baseband signals; a modulator for modulating the baseband signals with the repeater identifier added in the adder into RF signals; and a transmitter for transmitting the RF signals modulated in the modulator. The technology of the present invention is used to form an on-channel repeating network in an arbitrary transmission system including a digital television broadcasting system.

Provided is an apparatus and method for analyzing identification (ID) sig nals by converting radio frequency (RF) signals which are transmitted with a n ID signal added thereto by a transmitting part, e.g., a plurality of trans mitters or repeaters, into signals of a desired band; creating ID signals th at are identical to the ID signals added to the RF signals; calculating corr elation values between the converted signals and the created ID signals base d on partial correlation; and extracting channel profile of multi-path signa ls caused by a channel between the transmitting part and the ID signal analy zing apparatus from the correlation value. The technology of the present res earch is applied to broadcasting and communication.

El repetidor recibe las senales en un canal y distribuye las senales en el mismo canal mediante convertir las senales RF desde un transmisor principal en las senales de banda base; ecualizandolas en un ecualizador de alto rendimiento, agregando un identificador del repetidor a ellas, modulando las senales de banda base con el identificador del repetidor en las senales RF. El repetidor incluye: un receptor para recibir las senales RF; un demodulador para demodular las senales RF en las senales de banda base, un ecualizador para ecualizar las senales de banda base; un agregador para agregar un identificador del repetidor a las senales de banda base, un modulador para modular las senales de banda base con el identificador del repetidor agregado en el agregador en base senales RF y un transmisor para transmitir las senales RF moduladas en el modulador. La tecnologia de la presente invencion se usa para formar una red de repeticion de canal activo en un sistema de transmision arbitrario incluyendo un sistema de transmision de television digital.
