Abstract: A method of processing an intelligent network service call in a service switching point (SSP) which has a DTMF processor and is connected to the originating local exchange/transit exchange to provide an intelligent network service. The SSP receives a digit from the other exchange in a R2MFC signalling mode to process a trunk signal from the other exchange upon generation of a trunk line seizure request from the other exchange. The SSP analyzes the received digit to check whether a call from the other exchange is a normal call or an intelligent network service call in which subscriber's information must be received in the middle of the service. If the call from the other exchange is the intelligent network service call, the SSP collects a calling number and a calling category from the other exchange, releases the R2MFC signalling mode and forms a speech path with the other exchange to communicate directly with a service user. Then, the SSP operates the DTMF processor and an announcement sending device to instruct the service user to transmit desired information and collects the desired information from the service user. Then, the SSP releases the announcement sending device and the DTMF processor and processes an out-going trunk call for routing to the terminating local exchange/transit exchange to which a called subscriber belongs.

Abstract: The method controls overloading in a fully electronic exchange system including and operating and a waiting processor which indicates a cut off and makes an interface available to a user. It also has a number translation processor, an internal network processor which connects different floors, and several access processors. The latter are arranged to be distributed about the other processors. An overload control is started by the user, using a release value for the original calls, a value for the incoming calls and a value for the target and outgoing calls, for calls from the user which are accepted over a first period. A delay in each processor in the priority sequence is detected and used to determine a system overload. A CPU busy rate of each processor is determined in a second period and used to determine a traffic overload of a processor. The control procedure used depends on the type of overload, i.e. either a user overload, a system overload or a traffic overload.

Abstract: The overload control uses monitoring of the speech processing delay at defined time intervals, with a priority which is less than the speech processing priority, to initiate an overload control procedure with a higher priority than the speech processing priority in dependence on the monitored processing delay. When the central processing unit occupation level does not fall below a defined reference value within a second defined time interval, an overload condition is indicated, with the decentralised processors of lower order informed of the overload.

Abstract: The method controls the overloading of distributed access switching processors in a fully electric exchange system, in which the subscriber and official lines are arranged in a distributed manner. Thus access for calls and setting calls is carried out also in a distributed manner. First, monitoring is carried out of the call processing delay which is loaded into an access processor in accordance with a priority which is not higher than the call processing process but is higher than an operating and waiting process. The overload process is carried out according to a priority higher than the processing process where an overload in an access processor is determined and controlled. A process of varying a CPU reference value is continually repeated when a request is made by a user. After this the monitoring and overload control methods are started.
