    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques concerning the integration of computer graphics and video by changing the expression of an object from a video expression to an expression modeled as computer graphics, and receiving the selection instruction of the object. SOLUTION: Concerning a current video frame to be displayed on a video screen required to start pop-up, the presence/absence of an object is discriminated (step 405). A display engine routine of computer graphics is activated corresponding to each determined object (step 407). The location on a display screen is determined corresponding to each object for which the display engine routine of computer graphics is executed (step 409). Then, each object within the view range of a viewer is rendered (step 411).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a service while using the channel of an integrated service digital network(ISDN) by transmitting a packet through a bearer channel when the packet to be transmitted through a data(D) channel(B) belongs to the stream of a format non-resistant to delay to meet. SOLUTION: The function of a link layer execution element formats an IP packet for transmission through two B channels to the D channel and an internet protocol packet can be reconstituted by switching due to a telephone exchange 105 and an access server 103. With this function, enery packet to delay a packet transmitted from the B channel is removed from the D channel. The packet is separated based on the steam, to which that packet belongs, and the packet belonging to the stream of the form other than a specified form is designated to be transmitted from the D channel so that the packet belonging to the stream of the specified form can be transmitted not from the D channel but only from the B channel.

    Abstract: For a world that has a portion of the world distant from the point of view of th e user represented in only two dimensions as a video on a video screen, when an ob ject on the video screen undergoes a trajectory that takes at least a portion of it to a location in the world that is not represented by the video but instead is a location in the world that is represented by computer graphics, in addition to being able to continue to see s uch an object when it is rendered as computer graphics in the computer graphics part of the world, i.e., popped out from the video, one is able to interact with such an obj ect. Thus, an object which pops out from a video into the computer graphics part of the wor ld may be "investigated" by a viewer of the world. For example, the user could enter a store which popped out of the video, and engage in virtual shopping therein. The parti cular store which is actually entered may be customized on a per user basis, e.g., as a function of geography. When the proprietor of a virtual store, or his representative, e.g ., electronic agent, detects the avatar of one or more persons in the vicinity of the avatar o f a store for which such proprietor's store corresponds to the virtual store for such passing persons, a message may be transmitted to such passing persons.

    Abstract: Interacting call appearances are realized by enabling voice input/output to be simultaneously available on any combination of call appearances at a given time on a given terminal. Consequently, a user may, for example, listen to the voice output of one or more call appearances that are active at the terminal at a given time. Additionally, the user may direct voice input to one or more call appearances that are active at the terminal at a given time. Thus, the user, at any given time, may listen or speak to one or more parties on unrelated calls. Additionally, a user can employ more than o ne voice input/output device at his/her terminal. Specifically, the ability to simultaneously use more than one call appearance at a terminal at a given time is realized by separating call control from media routing and input/output control. Thus, the appearance of a call at a terminal is separated from the voice input/output that is required for the call. To this end, a user terminal or resources available to it must have the capability o f mixing multiple channels of audio, as well as, the capability of multiplexing/demultiplexing voice inputs and outputs into and from line appearances.
