Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the device with increment redundancy which uses a time slot channel by generating a header having the sequence number of a data block signal of size fit to a subslot of a time slot signal and identifying the number of successively transmitted data block signals. SOLUTION: The transmission and communication system includes a flag marker (time slot signal generator) 150 which generates a byte stream (time slot signal) 155 having at least one subslot of fixed size, a rate 1/2 systematic vortex encoder (data block signal generator) 165 which generates a data block signal 170 of size fit to the time slot, and a header adder 210 which generates a header having the data block signal sequence number in a header for the time slot signal 155. A receiver 130 identifies the number of successively transmitted data block signals 170 by the header for the time slot signal 155.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the probability of vagueness in the case of performing intermittent packet processing by performing medium access control layer processing corresponding to the start protocol data unit transmission of a receiver. SOLUTION: A medium access control layer controller MLC 190 determines the data back logs of buffers TXB0 and TXB1 and transmits a start protocol data unit(PDU) to a receiver 167. Further, the medium access control layer processing is executed as well corresponding to the transmission of the start PDU. Besides, the determined data back log is displayed on a medium access controller by a network layer 160. After the start PDU is transmitted, data transmission is stopped and a reception notice message from the receiver 167 is waited. At such a time, the reception notice message from the receiver 167 is controlled by a sub channel controller 185. Thus, wireless link protocol and dynamic partial echo management is executed to a processing orineted packet data communication system.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively provide streaming service in a wireless and a cellular communication network irrespective of existing delay requests and present channel quality, by using redundacy of determined quantity to restore errors by means of selective ARQ process with limited retransmission capacity for supporting higher streaming rate. SOLUTION: These are a method and system for a radio link control(RLC) protocol enabling partial restoration of data for streaming service in a mobile station or mobile receiver configuration. The maximum number of retransmissions permissible by a method for each RLC block is a function of the maximum delivery delay and a round trip delay required by streaming service.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain efficient and flexible multiplexing of both real time services and non-real-time services in a wireless data remote communication system. SOLUTION: This invention provides a system and a method for communication with a wireless time division multiplex method where the communication time is divided into frames and each frame is divided into N sets of data bursts. This system includes a 1st multiplexer that decides a channel as a series of bursts periodically generated by N-sets of bursts each one per frame, a 2nd multiplexer that decides a subs channel by each of the M-th burst of the channel, and a transmitter that transmits the channel and the sub channel from a 1st station to a 2nd station. When employing an ideal frequency hopping, the system adopts a new interleaving 0246/1357 method that is excellent similarly to the known 0123/4567 method and the 0246/1357 method has more excellent performance when a non-ideal frequency hopping or a non-frequency hopping is employed.

SOLUTION: A medium access control(MAC) layer 155 operates as an interface together with a layer 3 (network layer) 160, a physical layer (layer 1) 165 (including a MAC layer transmitter 166 and/or a MAC layer receiver 167) and a management component 170. A MAC layer controller(MLC) 190 decides data backlogs for buffers TXB0 and TXB1 and transmits a start protocol data unit (start PDU) including a flag to the MAC layer receiver 167. Further, it stops data transmission after transmitting the start PDU and waits for a reception notification message from the receiver 167.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and flexibly multiplex both a real time service and a non-real time service on a remote wireless data communication system. SOLUTION: A method and a system for reducing delay in radio communication are provided by using a system for a burst base access and assignment. A method for setting a communication channel uses a short burst (basically the slot of a time frame). Time is saved by flexibly and mutually independently maintaining uplink and downlink channels. Thus, time to be used for the purpose of trying to match all requests and responses with limited choices in previous protocols is reduced. As a result, delay to the mobile user is reduced and consistency in the use of the wireless service provider is improved.

For signal measurement reporting, channel quality feedback, and the carrying of 'pleasant' noise information, the continuity of a periodic control channel is maintained for the conversation talk spurt and voiceless period of a conversation voice.

SOLUTION: In a differential phase shift keying system of M-th degree, a maximum likelihood decoder 112 selects a path having a minimum cumulative Euclid's distance measurement reference, decodes a corresponding data sequence 132 and outputs it. A dividing device of M-th degree or a mapping circuit 136 maps the sequence 132 to an M-th degree sequence 138 in order to decide SIR measurement reference. After that, a processor 140 calculates weighted Euclid's distance measurement reference mi 142 which is used as a SIR to the i-th frame by using the sequence 132 and a demodulated sequence 110.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the system and method that measures quality of a channel based on S/N for the purpose of sending a coded signal through a fading channel. SOLUTION: A Viterbi decoder 56 with respect to a maximum likelihood is used for a measure of channel quality. The measure of the Euclid distance is filtered to smooth a short-term fluctuation. The smoothed or filtered measure is a channel quality measure that is consistent with and reliable for different code modulation systems and different mobile speeds. The filtered measure is mapped for the S/N per symbol by using a threshold level method. This tacit S/N estimate is used adaptively for a hand-off and a data rate of mobile aid model in a transmitter.
