Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a slot order of a scheduling template of a communication signal in a communication network. SOLUTION: The slot order of the scheduling template is determined by first allocating at least two initial slot positions to a specified signal class and then, systematic measurement degree of a candidate template is determined based on the lower limit of the systematic measurement degree of the allocated slot position and the remaining slot positions which are not allocated by this device. A part, not all of the slot positions or slot allocation is virtually allocated to various different signal classes without restricting to a single signal class by the lower limit of the systematic measurement degree of the slots which are not allocated. Then, the lower limit of the systematic measurement degree of the candidate template is compared with a threshold systematic measurement degree. When the threshold systematic measurement degree is lower than the determined lower limit of the candidate template, these processings of the template is omitted and the other slot allocation is compared with a reference template.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain effective allocation of dynamic channels by using a combination of hybrid of a measurement based DCA algorithm such as cost function based dynamic channel allocation DCA and of a reuse-distance standard algorithm. SOLUTION: A hybrid flexible channel allocation includes a measurement based dynamic channel allocation MBDCA part mounted at each cell site 102 and a cost function based dynamic channel allocation CFBDCA part of a reuse- distance standard mounted in a center data base of a mobile switching center MCB 104. At the MBDCA part, candidate channels defined to the flexible allocation are sequentially sent to the CFBDCA part operating via the center data base according to the usable up-link and down-link interference measurement value. Then a relevant channel selects one of allocation candidate channels based on its use degree set by a neighboring or nearby cell. Furthermore, a channel candidate list is collected at the site 102 based on the use information on the selected channel.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel assignment method for a wireless communication system which includes a fixed multiple beam sophisticated function antenna system. SOLUTION: The method enhances call quality and speech capacity by integrating the dynamic channel assignment technology into the sophisticated function antenna system. The sophisticated function antenna system includes a grouped beam set, each set relates a long list to a 1st short list and each beam relates to a 2nd short list. Part of communication channels is assigned a mobile station on the basis of a short-term interference level measured per each beam of the beam set. The long list and the 1st short list are formed on the basis of long-term and short-term interference levels measured as the highest with respect to each of the plural communication channels traversing each beam in the beam set.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine high-quality routing without requiring network resources any more by rerouting communication to another automatic call distribution(ACD) system as the substitutive destination. SOLUTION: A public switched telephone network(PSTN) 100 is provided with a switching node 101 for routing the communication (calling) to ACD systems 110-112. Calling is incoming and routed to non-central ACD systems 110 and 112. When the central ACD system can provide a service better than these non-central ACD systems, refusal (busy signal) is returned to the switching node 101 by the non-central ACD systems. Thus, the connection of calling to this non-central ACD system is released and calling is routed to the central ACD system 111 as the designated substitutive destination.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform effective channel allocation by applying a reuse distance reference algorithm to a candidate channel list generated by a measurement based dynamic channel allocation MBDCA algorithm against a new call and selecting a channel corresponding to the new call. SOLUTION: A flexible channel allocation scheme is a hybrid algorithm and selects an optimum channel to be allocated to a cellular call based on a dynamic channel allocation MBDCA algorithm of a measurement base using an interference signal measurement value obtained in base stations 201 and 202, and on a reuse distance reference algorithm using information stored in a data base contained in a mobile object switching center MSC which performs switching between the mobile objects 203 and 204. In an MBDCA scheme, a channel is allocated to a call when the channel satisfies a prescribed call quality standard. The MBDCA scheme is applicable to both traffic and interference and more excellent in terms of the system capacity than a dynamic channel allocation scheme that is based only on a reuse distance reference.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide the slot sequence of a more improved scheduling template by selecting a template that has desired regularity measure. SOLUTION: Plural possible candidate templates are identified (410). These plural candidate templates are identified or selected based on a certain selection reference. As for a selection reference, e.g. a candidate template that practically has a random sequence is selected and an order is decided based on the priority of a signal class, etc. Regularity measure is decided about plural identified candidate templates (420). The regularity measure is the measure of regularity or a synchronous property of transmission which is given when a data packet of each signal class is transmitted by each candidate template. After the regularity measure is decided about each template candidate, a candidate template that has the lowest regularity measure is decided, and a data packet is transmitted by using it (430).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the dynamic assignment of channels by using a cost table that assigns a prescribed channel to a 1st sector or cell and using each entry of a busy channel table that denotes whether or not a prescribed sector or cell is in use at present so as to produce a cost required for using a channel again. SOLUTION: A function CFBDCA is operated in combination with a function MBDCA and corrects incomplete and inaccurate signal measurement information of the function MBDCA mainly. The algorithm of the function CFEDCA is loaded even when an object selected by the function MBDCA is in existence or not. The algorithm of the function CFBDCA uses a database so as to avoid too many cells/sectors adjacent to the cell/sector where the object channel is surely in use and the function CFBDCA aids correction of missing of measurement of downlink interference in a mobile location.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform dynamic allocation and to obtain the growth of a simple system and a high capacity by allocating channels according to a priority that is set to a channel list as a function of long-term and short-term interference fluctuation in every cell/sector in a wireless communication network. SOLUTION: A telephone exchange center 10 which controls entire operations of a system has a dynamic channel allocating system IBDCA on an interference base and performs signal measurement, channel sequencing, call allowance, channel allocation, call maintenance, hand-off, etc. A base station 14 sequences an entire spectrum by signal intensity RSS to long-term fluctuation based on the result that the intensity RSS of a mobile communication device 20 and a carrier-to-interference ratio are measured, and further sequences several channels of the highest order based on the RSS of short-term fluctuation. Then, it allocates a channel that is sequenced based on a prescribed reference in response to a call. Thereby, a channel can dynamically and automatically be allocated to a mobile station.

Abstract: An advantageous scheduling template slot ordering for use in establishing a scheduling order of events such as transmitting communication signals in a communication network is determined by assigning at least two initial slot positions to a particular signal class and then determining a regularity measure based on a lower bound for the regularity measure of such assignments and the remaining unassigned slot positions. This lower bound for the regularity measure of the unassigned slots is advantageously based on a hypothetical assignment of fractions of the slot positions to different signal classes instead of limiting the assignment of a slot to a single signal class. This fractional slot assignment produces a regularity measure that is better than or equal to a corresponding regularity measure based on assigning a whole slot to a particular signal class. The lower bound of the regularity measure is then compared with a threshold regularity measure, such as from a known reference scheduling template. If the threshold regularity measure is lower than the determined lower bound, then it is known that the reference template would provide a more desirable regularity of events than any template having the assigned slot positions to that particular signal class. As a consequence, other slot assignments can be compared to the reference template to rapidly identify scheduling templates with enhanced regularity characteristics.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for improving call quality and capacity by integrating a dynamic channel allocation technique into an intelligent antenna system. The intelligent antenna systems includes beams which are grouped into sets, wherein each set has associated a long list and a primary short list, and each beam has associated a secondary short lis t. In one embodiment, long term interference levels are measured on each beam in a set of beams fo r a plurality of communication channels to produce the long list; short term interference levels are measured on each beam in the set of beams for a portion of the plurality of communicatio n channels to produce a plurality of secondary short lists and the primary short list; and communication channels are assigned to a mobile-station from the portion of the plurality of communication channels based on the measured short term interference levels on each beam i n the set of beams. The long list and the primary short list are based upon highest measured lon g and short term interference levels, respectively, for each of the plurality of communicatio n channels across each beam in the set of beams.
