SOLUTION: The routing optimizing method of a 3rd generation mobile communication system where the destination of a packet is given to a mobile node in a follow-in network and making communication with a corresponding node (24) is characterized in that the method includes a step (A) where a home agent (26) is set in a corresponding node(CN), a step (B) where a care of address(CoA) is assigned to the mobile node in the foreign network, a step (C) where a packet header is changed with the corresponding node so that the destination address is set to the care of address(CoA), and a step (D) where a mobile node identifier (50) is provided.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new packet address provision system that overcomes defects of a conventional technique and can provide a QoS(Quality of Service). SOLUTION: In the method for providing a quality of service in a third generation mobile communication network, an address addressed to a MN(Mobile Node) 28 is given to a packet, the MN 28 has a CN(Corresponding Node) 24 in a HN(Home Network) 50 and the MN 28 stays in an FN(Foreign Network) 52, and this method includes a step (A) where the CN 24 transmits a QoS inquiry message to the HN 50, a step (B) where the HN 50 transmits the QoS inquiry message to the MN 28, a step (C) where the MN 28 transmits a QoS reply message to the MN 28 through the same route as that of the QoS inquiry message, and a step (D) where the HN 50 transmits the QoS reply message to the CN 24, and the step (D) is conducted after the HN 50 receives the QoS reply message from the MN 28.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supplying an address to, especially, a packet directed to a mobile node in a foreign network, related to the operation method of a mobile communication network. SOLUTION: When a mobile node MN is within a following network FN, a packet is provided with an address directed to an destination by a home agent HA, however, the HA changes a header to make a source address to be an HA address, thus a destination address comes to be a care of address CoA of a mobile terminal. Discrimination codes of a mobile node and a corresponding node are contained in a packet header and a table for the discrimination code and the corresponding node is held by the HA, which is sent to an FA (in case of FA-CoA operation mode) or to an MN (in case of CO-CoA mode). The arrived packet is attached with an address again, which is sent to a layer of higher dimension or to an application. In the operation mode with no encapsulation, a packet is never to be rejected by a fire wall.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize flexible and effective resources management that provides a satisfactory QoS satisfying a request for service level agreement(SLA) while maintaining efficient utilization of resources in a communication network. SOLUTION: This communication network has network resources including at least one service domain. The service domain has a user terminal and a controller that operates so as to control the transmission of a data stream between the user terminal and a network node with prescribed service quality. The service quality depends on an SLA condition between the user and the service domain, is processed by the controller and is converted into a set of policies to be applied. The polices include the selection and allocation of such a network resource to transmit the data stream with selected service quality.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of n interactive packet data protocol for a mobile communication system. SOLUTION: The method relates to an interactive resource reservation technology used in UMTS and other electric communication systems. When a decision is made whether users request a resource reservation at both directions of uplink and downlink in the system, and when they request reservation, an interactive protocol is proceeded so that a necessary resource reservation is settled. The protocol integrates a resource negotiation procedure for both directions of uplink and downlink so as to attain the necessary reservation for both directions. The decision can be based on a flag bit identifying whether users request reservation for both directions. The flag bit can be co-operated with an information element IE of service quality QoS of the system.

    Abstract: In a third generation telecommunications network, quality of service can be provided to a mobile node in a foreign network which has a correspondent node in a home network. A quality of service enquiry message is sent from the correspondent node 24 to the home network then from the home network to the mobile node 28. A quality of service response message is sent from the mobile node to the home network by the same route as the enquiry message. A response message is only sent from the home network to the correspondent node after receipt of the quality of service response message from the mobile node. The enquiry message may be sent by end to end addressing, and the response by hop-to-hop addressing. The quality of service may use resource reservation (RSVP) protocol.
