    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To initiate a recovery process by transmitting a packet to a layer 2 tunneling control (L2TP) recipient and detecting a plurality of messages from the L2TP recipient denoting that the L2TP recipient still has the packet received earlier. SOLUTION: An L2TP sender NAS (LAC) 155 stores 'a plurality of negation messages', increments a count by one when an output array number is equal to a value of the array number (Nr from a recipient) (the packet is same) to check whether or not the count reaches a prescribed limit, and receives the packet when the count is the prescribed value or below. When the count reaches the prescribed limit, the LAC 155 transmits a payload message including a 'reset Sr' (R-bit) indicator to the recipient NS (LNS) 135. This indicator resets the value Nr (at the recipient) and the LAC 155 receives the packet.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a signal transmitted by a remote terminal whose strength is below a signal threshold by discriminating whether or not the strength of the received signal is larger than or equal to a 1st power threshold, allowing a receiver section to increase the signal strength by a prescribed amount and to re-transmit the signal with the enhanced power. SOLUTION: When the strength of a original signal transmitted by a remote terminal does not exceed a DTHRESHI (detection threshold level), a base station discriminates whether or not the signal exceeds a PTHRESHI (power threshold level). In the case that the strength of the received original signal exceeds the PTHRESHI, the base station transmits a PTHRESHI excess message to the remote terminal. Upon receipt of the message from a receiver section 406, the remote terminal uses a processor 402 to give a control signal to a transmitter section 408 to increase the transmission power level of the signal, and retransmits an access request signal to the base station.

SOLUTION: A communication system 100 shows the multiple hop tunnel, one hop comes from an ISP B network to an ISP A network and the other hop comes from the ISP A network to the network of a company. The tunnel and call are established between a serve LAC 115 and an anchor LAC 155. Similarly, the tunnel and call are established between the anchor LAC 155 and an LSN 135. When the tunnel is established, a lot of control message transactions are generated and a point-to-point protocol is set.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use band width, which can be used in a radio communication network and which is restricted by giving band width by on-demand and efficiently deciding a transmission level required for up link data transmitting between respective remote hosts and a base station. SOLUTION: A radio communication network 230 includes a base station 236 and a plurality of remote hosts 232 and adopts the protocol of on-demand multiplex access just queuing. A relative initial transmission power level is set for the power level of a rating open loop from the first remote host 232, and a short connection request message is transmitted. When transmission is unsuccessful, power is increased slightly and the transmission and power increment are repeated until the successful transmission is obtained. When transmission is succeeded, the power level at that time is stored and is used for up data transmission between the subsequent remote host 232 and the base station 236.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of n interactive packet data protocol for a mobile communication system. SOLUTION: The method relates to an interactive resource reservation technology used in UMTS and other electric communication systems. When a decision is made whether users request a resource reservation at both directions of uplink and downlink in the system, and when they request reservation, an interactive protocol is proceeded so that a necessary resource reservation is settled. The protocol integrates a resource negotiation procedure for both directions of uplink and downlink so as to attain the necessary reservation for both directions. The decision can be based on a flag bit identifying whether users request reservation for both directions. The flag bit can be co-operated with an information element IE of service quality QoS of the system.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an L2TP recipient to start a recovery process by receiving packets from an L2TP sender and detecting the prescribed number of lost payload packets. SOLUTION: In a layer 2 tunneling protocol(L2TP) oriented recipient initiation recovery algorithm(RIRA), when the number of lost or failed payload packets exceeds a prescribed number, an L2TP recipient executes the recipient initiation recovery algorithm(RIRA). The recipient maintains a variable Snl preserved from a packet that finally received the values of a 'next array number expected for reception' (Sr) and a currently received array number 'sent next' (Ns). In the case of Sn1 > Sr + an adjustment value (315), the recipient side resets the value Sr into the value Snl, passes all packets to a host layer of a protocol stack and informs a sender about a new Sr value.
