    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for connecting a mobile station(MS) to an external packet data network(PDN) for a mobile communication system which provides packet switching service. SOLUTION: A gateway control means (GGSN) is provided which receives a packet data unit(PDU) from the external PDN and routes it to a selected MS. The GGSN provides a system address (IMSI) for establishing a connection with the MS and a packet address (PDP) enabling the PDU to be routed to the MS for the selected MS. Further, the GGSN is provided with a table means which discriminates MS's in the system and associates IMSI's of the MS's to respective package addresses. Information of the table means is obtained from a request started by an MS for the external packet service.
