    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing roaming in communication services. SOLUTION: A universal main station UMS of this invention that is plugged into other jacks than its home jack establishes a connection to a home server, which receives a mobile identification number sent from the UMS. In the case that the telephone number of an owner of the jack is not automatically transferred by way of an incoming calling line identifier(ICLID), a user of the UMS is prompted by the server to provide its directory. Then the server informs a home wired exchange about the transfer of all incoming calls addressed to the telephone number of the UMS to the telephone number of a possessor of the jack into which the UMS is plugged. When an MS is not plugged into a jack, the UMS automatically acts like a wireless MS.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a fault in a digital multiplexer device from the one in a transmitting equipment by multiplexing and separating an incoming series PCM signal into plural multiplex PCM signals, selecting a corresponding multiplex incoming signal and collating it with a plurality of multiplex PCH signals obtained by means of converting PCM incoming signals. SOLUTION: A DS3 input signal received from another digital communication exchange is transmitted to M32 de-multiplexers 111 and 112 in parallel and the M32 de-multiplexers 111 and 112 transmit a DS2 signal to M21 de- multiplexers 121 and 122 at a main circuit side and the M21 de-multiplexers 123 and 124 at a data pass guarantee side. Then the PCM incoming signals by series connection are converted into the plural multiplex PCM signals and one of the converted signals is selected. Besides, the incoming series PCM signal is multiplexed and separated into the plural multiplex PCM signals, one corresponding multiplex incoming signal is selected and it is collated with one of the converted plural multiplex PCM signals.

    Abstract: To test a primary train of tiered demultiplexers (111, 121, 122, 131, 132), a data path assurance train of demultiplexers (112, 123, 124) and a selector (130) is used to generate a demultiplexed signal for comparison (in 151) with a primary demultiplexed signal. To test a primary train of tiered multiplexers (113, 125, 126, 135, 136), the output of the final multiplexing stage (113) is connected to the input of the data path assurance train of demultiplexers to generate a demultiplexed signal for comparison (in 153) with a primary input signal to the primary multiplexer train. Advantageously, a simpler, more reliable, and less expensive data path assurance circuit using the same types of components as the primary multiplexers and demultiplexers can be used to detect failures in these primary units as well as the data path assurance circuit.
