    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellular communication system provided with a central radio pool/traffic router (CRP/TR) that sends control and traffic signals over fiber optic transmission links that connect the CRP/TR with base stations of the cellular communication system. SOLUTION: The high bandwidth capacity of each fiber link allows a large band of radio frequencies representing many radio channels to pass between the CRP/TR and individual base stations. Radio sources can be shared by all base stations in the cellular communication system, dynamically, when and where needed, to meet access demands throughout the entire system. The CRP /TR is provided with low-powered digital and/or analog radios and also switching and modulating means used to convey signals between the radios and various base stations within the system.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing roaming in communication services. SOLUTION: A universal main station UMS of this invention that is plugged into other jacks than its home jack establishes a connection to a home server, which receives a mobile identification number sent from the UMS. In the case that the telephone number of an owner of the jack is not automatically transferred by way of an incoming calling line identifier(ICLID), a user of the UMS is prompted by the server to provide its directory. Then the server informs a home wired exchange about the transfer of all incoming calls addressed to the telephone number of the UMS to the telephone number of a possessor of the jack into which the UMS is plugged. When an MS is not plugged into a jack, the UMS automatically acts like a wireless MS.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a digital compatible plain old telephone service channel card and a method for using the same, which does not need additional devices, such as a divider or the like, when a digital subscriber's line(XDSL) service is provided in a plain old telephone service(POTS) telephone channel. SOLUTION: The digital compatible plain old telephone service channel card comprises a low-pass filter 246 and constituted, so that a digital subscriber line(XDSL) compatible 'plain old telephone service'(POTS) channel card interfaces a subscriber in a two-wire type subscriber's line and a communication exchange system; and a channel card 238 is connected to the subscriber's line and to process to filter a DSL signal, a channel support circuit 244 constituted to supply a power to the subscriber's line; a codec unit 242 for converting an analog signal from the subscriber's line to a digital signal and a digital signal from the communication exchange system to an analog signal to the subscriber's line; and a digital signal processor 240 connected between the codec 242 and the exchange system and constituted to give the appearance of a terminal end of the POTS service to the subscriber's line and the exchange system.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide service to a new remote subscriber's line unit through the use of the flexible bandwidth of a data network by providing a remote line unit, etc., which is remotely located from a telephone exchange and constituted to interface with one of bearer channels connected with a data network and a wired terminal. SOLUTION: An access network head end 208 sets one or plural bearer channels of a packet data capacity toward respective remote line units 216, 218. In another word, a set quantity of data packet traffic is reserved through a data network 214, and the end 208 controls and maintains a bandwidth required through the network 214 by this reservation. Then, the units 216, 218 provide a telephone service to analog telephone sets 224, 228, 234 and digital telephone sets 230, 236, 238.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate dependence on a proprietary interface by installing a means starting sound communication connection from a management module to a remote subscriber line device via switch equipment through one communication line selected from plural communication lines. SOLUTION: A remote subscriber line device provision system 109 operates on a common equipment base with the sound communication equipment of a remote subscriber line device 110. For connecting the remote subscriber line device 110 with a management module 101, signaling is executed with a communication module 103 and communication connection to a digital line trunk device 104 is established through a switch module 102. Hence private communication equipment for connecting the remote subscriber line device 110 to a central equipment management system is not required and the standard sound interface of the remote subscriber line device 110 is used for provision. Thus, dependence on a proprietary interface can be eliminated.

This card may also be used alone, without a XDSL equipped line.
