Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the automatic channel assignment of a transmitter-receiver and to accurately decide an RF channel used in a service area. SOLUTION: Transmission signals are supplied through a transmission band- pass filter 304 to an antenna 305 and reception signals are supplied through a reception band-pass filter 306 to a receiver 307. An RF changeover array 311 composed of four RF switches normally interconnects the output of a transmitter 302 and the input of the receiver 307 corresponding to the respective modes of loop-back (self test) and sweep. In a normal mode, the antenna 305 is connected to the transmitter 302 and the receiver 307 respectively through the transmission band-pass filter 304 and the reception band-pass filter 306. Transmission and signal paths are mutually effectively interrupted by three serially connected open switches 311. In a loop-back mode, transmission output is connected to reception input. In a sweep, mode, the antenna 305 is connected through the transmission band-pass filter 304 to the receiver.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier distortion reduction device for detecting plural amplitudes correspondent in time within a frequency band of operation. SOLUTION: In response to at least one of plural amplitudes, the control of components is performed within the frequency band of operation and the amplifier distortion reducing device is adaptive to operating conditions to be changed. A processing circuitry 82 can generate a frequency spectrum expression within the frequency band of operation by using a time sample. The processing circuitry 82 is provided with an analog/digital(A/D) converter 88 and this A/D converter 88 samples the radio frequency(RF) signal on the frequency band of operation and converts it to a digital sample value. A digital receiver 90 deforms the digital sample value using Fourier transforms and generates a digital domain frequency spectrum expression within the frequency band of operation.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system where the problem of cost and coverage and the difficulty of installation are solved by up-converting an information transportation signal into an intermediate frequency, transmitting it on a wire, receiving it and up-converting it into a radio frequency. SOLUTION: A radio communication system 400 is connected to a plurality of radio machine heads 401-1 to 401-6 from a base band unit 403 through one of the wires 402-1 to 402-3 of a pair of stranded wires. The base band unit 403 is formed of block radio machines, it receives an information transportation signal and a control signal from traffic signaling 404, modulates, channel-encodes and multiplexes the signals and transmit them to the wires 402-1 to 402-3. The radio machine heads 401-1 to 401-6 are provided with antennas and are arranged so that a dead area is not caused in coverage, separating desired information transportation signals from a multiplexed intermediate frequency and radiating the signals from the antennas by a desired radio frequency.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna system by which supply of a prescribed energy stream to each of pluralities of rake fingers in the code division multiple access CDMA system is compensated. SOLUTION: A CDMA base station 60 by this invention compensates a prescribed energy stream supplied to each of pluralities of rake fingers 110, 112,... and improves the gain. One side face of the base station includes pluralities of pairs of diversity antennas 62, 64,.... The energy from a 1st antenna of each pair is delayed and the energy from a 2nd antenna of each pair is not delayed. The added delay is larger than a tip time of the rake fingers. Signals from the antenna pairs are synthesized and converted into a digital form. The energy from all antennas is selected by each rake finger and the energy from each antenna is selected by any of the rake fingers. Then the energy from the rake fingers is synthesized into a single data stream.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analog/digital converter with a high dynamic range. SOLUTION: The high power selective signal attenuator is provided with a 1st analog/digital converter that converts an attenuating analog main signal and an output of the attenuator into a digital signal. A digital/analog converter converts a digital output from a 1st analog/digital converter into an analog signal, and a canceller receives a main signal and an analog output from a digital/analog converter. The canceller cancels an analog output from the digital/analog converter from the main signal to substantially eliminate the high power signal. A 2nd analog/digital converter receives an output of the canceller and produces a digital output. A control circuit receiving the digital output dynamically controls the attenuation of the attenuator to avoid the 2nd analog/digital converter from being saturated and to enhance an information throughput.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce transmitter overloading in a transmission scanning receiver by decreasing a transmitter signal that is sent from an overloaded transmitter and received by the transmission scanning receiver. SOLUTION: A part of a transmitter signal obtained from a transmission path 12 and sent on a coupling path 11 is adjusted, injected to a transmission scanning path 16 of a transmission scanning receiver 17, sent from a transmitter 26 and synthesized with the transmitter signal received by the transmission scanning receiver 17. A delay element 24 on the coupling path 11 is sent from the transmitter 26 and used to adjust a delay in the coupling path 11 so as to correspond to a delay of the transmitter signal received by the transmission scanning receiver 17. An amplitude and phase adjustment device 34 on the coupling path 11 adjusts the amplitude and the phase of the transmitter signal on the coupling path 11 to reduce the transmitter signal on the transmission scanning path 16. The measurement of the transmitter signal on the transmission scanning path is used to adjust the phase/amplitude of the signal on the coupling path 11 and to reduce a signal level.

Abstract: The high-power selective signal attenuator includes an attenuator attenuating analog main signals, and a first analog-to- digital converter converting output of the attenuator to digital. A digital-to-analog converter reconverts the digital output of the first ADC to analog, and a cancellor receives the main signals and the analog output from the DAC. The cancellor cancels the analog output of the DAC from the main signals to substantially eliminate high- power signals. A second ADC receives the output of the cancellor and generates a digital output. Based on the digital output, control circuitry dynamically controls the attenuation of the attenuator to prevent saturation of the second ADC and to improve information throughput.

Abstract: A communication system reduces the transmitter (13) overloading a transmit scanning receiver (17) by reducing transmitter signals transmitted from an overloading transmitter and received by the transmit scanning receiver. A sample of a transmitter signal to be transmitted is obtained (in 10a) from the transmitter before transmission. After the transmitter signal is transmitted and received by the transmit scanning receiver, the sample is used to reduce the transmitter signal at the transmit scanning receiver. To do so, the sample is delayed (24), adjusted (34) and combined (36) with the transmitter signal. In certain embodiments, a portion of a transmitter signal is obtained from a transmit path of a transmitter prior to transmission and put on a coupled path. The transmitter signal on the coupled path is adjusted and injected into a transmit scanning path of the transmit scanning receiver to combine with a transmitter signal which was transmitted by the transmitter and received at the transmit scanning receiver. A delay element in the coupled path is used to adjust the delay on the coupled path to correspond to the delay experienced by the transmitter signal which was transmitted by the transmitter and then received by the transmit scanning receiver. Amplitude and phase adjusters on the coupled path amplitude and phase adjust the transmitter signal on the coupled path to reduce the transmitter signal on the transmit scanning path. To improve the reduction of the transmitter signal on the transmit scanning path, measurements of at least the transmitter signal on the transmit scanning path can be made, and the measurements can be used to adjust the phase and/or amplitude of the transmitter signals on the coupled path to reduce the level of the transmitter signal on the transmit scanning path. Furthermore, successive cancellation stages (10n) comprising parallel coupled paths can be implemented to provide more suppression of the transmitter signal on the transmit scanning path.
