    Abstract: Cut-to-fit floor mats for use in the front row of different vehicles includes a driver's side floor mat and a passenger's side floor mat, each with a plurality of peripheral cells separated from each other and from a central area of the mat body by indented trim lines. The passenger's side mat is not a mirror image of the driver's side mat but differs therefrom in the shape of its exterior margin and the number, length, positioning and shape of the trim lines. The driver's side mat has cells which can be selectively trimmed away to accommodate a gas pedal, deadpedal, transmission tunnel indentation and fuel filler door / trunk release levers. The passenger's side mat has arcuate trim lines and cells adapted to fit a transmission tunnel bulge and a right front wheel well which often delimit the passenger's side foot well.

    Abstract: A device for fastening a vehicle floor cover to carpeting in a vehicle foot well includes a body with a first and second face. Projections or spikes extend from the first face and, in one embodiment, each have vertical faces in alignment with mold ejector bars or sleeves. A fastener, sized to be received into a grommet, extends from the second face. A retention grommet has a bottom grommet and a top grommet. A floor cover retention flange extends radially outwardly from an outer sidewall of the bottom grommet. The outer sidewall extends upwardly from the retention flange to a hinge plane of the bottom grommet. Plural fingers are disposed around the bottom grommet axis so as to be angularly spaced from each other and an inner surface of the outer sidewall. An upper end of each finger is joined to the outer sidewall at the hinge plane. Near a free, downwardly displaced end of each finger, a retention bead is formed to have an upwardly and radially outwardly inclined surface. This surface engages a retention post of any of several vehicle foot well affixation devices, one of which is adapted to be affixed to a carpeted surface and another of which is adapted to be affixed to a smooth surface.

    Abstract: Modular plastic floor tiles have elongate drainage vents formed to extend from the general upper surfaces of the tiles to general lower surfaces thereof. In a two-shot injection molded embodiment, the vents are laterally spaced from locations of overmolded features, and may be disposed within channels defined by downwardly depending support ribs. In one embodiment, groups of elongate vents are disposed around respective fill points in radiant fashion, so as to minimize the impedance to polymer flow within the injection mold. The vents may be radiussed at the tile's upper surface to enhance their fluid collecting capability.

    Abstract: A mat for removable installation on the floor surface of a vehicle foot well has at least one through-hole for receiving a mat retention device. At least one endless elastomeric sealing member extends radially inwardly from a general sidewall surface of the through-hole. A grommet for the through-hole includes a bottom grommet and a cap. An outer sealing surface of the grommet compresses the elastomeric sealing member of the through-hole, thereby creating an impermeable barrier to water incident on an upper surface of the mat body. The mat body may have an endless ridge on its upper surface that is radially outwardly spaced from the through- hole and that is compressibly engaged by a lower surface of a cap retention flange.

Die Segmente auf der oberen Oberfläche können von der unteren Oberfläche durch Durchgangslöcher spritzgeformt werden. Laterale Kanten der Fliese sind mit Riegeln bereitgestellt, die in Schlaufen mit einem Presssitz passen. Die Schlaufen biegen sich, um auf die übereinstimmenden Fliesenkanten eine Druckkraft auszuüben. Die Fliese kann eine überformte Randdichtung aufweisen.
