    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve brightness of a screen, without deteriorating self-color tolerance and other colors tolerance in the case of mislanding on a fluorescent screen by disposing apertures and phosphor dots having hexagonal shape in the same direction. SOLUTION: When a condition such that apertures of a shadow mask is formed in hexagons, shapes of phosphor dots 21 and electron beam spots 5 formed on a fluorescent screen 4 are also formed in hexagonal shape similar to each other. For example, opposite side distances of the phosphor dots 21 and electron beam spots 5 are respectively set as (b)=100 μm, and (c)=140 μm. When the distance between each neighboring phosphor dot is the same pitch of 150 μm, and the self-color tolerance is 20 μm, and other color tolerance is a minimum distance (d)=30 μm. When the condition that numbers and pitches of apertures and phosphor dots 21 are set the same as the case of the regular hexagon shape and the shapes are formed in a hexagonal shape which is longer m a Y-axis direction, the other colors tolerance is unified in all directions, and thereby values of (d) and (e) are equalized. Accordingly, a brightness is improved by reducing a ratio of a black matrix.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of scanning moire on a screen by making vertical pitches of respective apertures of a shadow mask on parallel lines to the vertical axis variable in the direction of preventing occurrence of the scanning moire in the case an axis passing through the plane center of a face plate part and in the direction of orthogonal to the scanning beam is set as a vertical axis. SOLUTION: This color cathode-ray tube is provided with a shadow mask 1a having a plurality of approximately circular apertures 2a arranged corresponding to color-emitting phosphor dots on a face plate part 8. Regarding vertical pitches of the apertures 2a of the shadow mask 1a on the parallel lines Y2 to the vertical axis Y, the vertical pitches P2 on the parallel lines Y2 in the peripheral part A in the horizontal axis X side are set different from the vertical pitches P3 in the parts besides the peripheral part A on the parallel lines Y2 and set to be a value as to prevent occurrence of scanning moire. Consequently, the mutual interference of the scanning beam and the vertical pitches P2 of the shadow mask 1a is weakened and occurrence of scanning moire in the peripheral part A can be suppressed.
