    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent discoloring of a color filter so as to enhance color reproducibility by dispersing an ultraviolet absorber in the color filter which receives ultraviolet radiation during lighting of a fluorescent lamp, so as to restrain the quantity of the ultraviolet radiation. CONSTITUTION:Partition walls 5 are integrally molded inside a sealed container main body 1 to provide six discharge spaces. Each space 6a, 7a is coated with a green fluorescent material and each spacer 6b, 7b with a red fluorescent material and each spacer 6c, 7c with a blue fluorescent material. Anodes 14a to 14c and 15a to 15c are provided and a plurality of discharge passages are defined between each anode and a cathode 9. After a mercury getter 16 is heated at high frequencies and mercury is supplied, a filter 17 of silicon rubber having fine particles of zinc oxide dispersed therein is attached to form a fluorescent lamp. In the fluorescent lamp, discoloring of the color filter is restrained throughout the life of the lamp and a good characteristic of the time rate of change of light transmittance can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the light output characteristics of a lamp during image display by costructing discharge channels between an electrode filament and respective electrodes and sticking a filter consicting of colored transparent heat insulating plate on the front panel of the lamp. CONSTITUTION:Discharge channels are constructed between an electrode filament 9 and respective electrodes 14a, 14b, 14c, 15a, 15b, and 15c. Discharge spaces 6a, 6b, 6c display a picture element and discharge spaces 7a, 7b, 7c display another picture element. And a transparent low melting glass filter consisting of a colored transparent heat insulating plate 16, on the front panel side of which pigments representing green, red and blue necessary for image display are coated or printed corresponding to the arrangement of discharge spaces 6a-6c, 7a-7c, is sticked on the front panel 2 so as to correspond to the discharge spaces 6a-7c to light the lamp. Thereby the light output characterististics of the lamp during display can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent generation of a low luminous flux by incorporating, in an outer bulb, a luminescent tube, filled with an amalgam forming material and a rare gas and coated with phosphor on the inner surface, and by controller the amalgam in the luminescent tube at a temperature where it is completely in liquid phase during normal lighting. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2, 3 are supported on the end of a double U-shaped luminescent tube 1 by lead wires 4, 5 and stems 6, 7. The glass tube 1 is coated with phosphor 8 on its inner surface and the luminescent tube 1 is filled with mercury and argon as a rare gas. In a this glass tube 9 provided below the stem 7, main amalgam forming material 10 made from Bi-In and its position regulating glass rod 11 are provided. On the lead wires 4, 5 are fixed auxiliary amalgam 12, 13. The luminescent tube 1 is incorporated in an outer globe 14 to which is fixed a case 15 which contains safety switch 17 and a flow starter. Being made in such a configuration, the amalgam temperature is controlled so that it is in complete liquid phase during normal lighting and generation of low luminous flux can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily make a double-U-shaped bulb by forming openings in ends of a pair of U-shaped glass bulbs opposite to their other ends which are sealed by stems having electrodes and joining the openings together to form a discharge path. CONSTITUTION:Phosphor films are formed on the inner surfaces of a pair of U-shaped glass bulbs 1 and 2. Ends of the bulbs 1 and 2 are closed and their other ends are sealed by stems 5 and 6 having electrodes 3 and 4 respectively. Next, after an opening is formed near each of the two closed ends, a discharge path connection part 7 is used to fuse the openings forming a continuous discharge path, thereby making a double-U-shaped discharge path, thereby making a double-U-shaped fluorescent lamp which is used to produce an incandescent- lamp type fluorescent lamp device. Since it is not necessary to curve the glass bulbs 1 and 2 after phosphor application, the thickness of the phosphor films can be made uniform and any nonuniform thickness of the glass bulbs 1 and 2 can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To fix a stabilizer and screw firmly with better radiating performance without holding and to accommodate a starter on an inner face side of a holder by sticking the stabilizer to the inner face side of the holder stuck in an enclosed unit by resin. CONSTITUTION:A non light transmitting cup type cover 2 projecting a base 2 forms an enclosed unit with a light transmitting globe 3. A non light transmitting cup type holder 12 sectioning the inner space of the cover 2 and that of the globe 3 is stuck to an inner face of the enclosed unit so that the inner face is faced to the cover 2. The holder 12 has two cylindrical end portion receiving ports 9 for supporting both ends of a double U-letter fluorescent lamp 4 provided in the globe 3 on its outer face side and an accommodating room 13 for a stabilizer 5 and an accommodating room 14 for a glow starter 6 on its inner face side. The stabilizer 5 in the accommodating room 13 is stuck to the holder by thermoset silicon resin 15 injected into the accommodating room 13.
