Abstract: A refrigerator (1) according to the present invention is so designed that the refrigerating chamber (8) is divided by a partition plate (6) into an upper cooling chamber (9a) and a lower cooling chamber (9b) in which a vegetable storing container (23) in a sealed structure is accommodated, the vegetable storing container (23) having a lid member (29) attached with a humidity permeable film of gas permeability (31), whereby the humidity inside the vegetable storing container (23) is maintained within a predetermined range suitable for preservation of vegetables, such that the vegetables are prevented from being dried to be withered and can be kept fresh for relatively a long period of time.
