Abstract: The present invention relates to a shelf apparatus for a refrigerator which raises and lowers a refrigerator's food storage shelves (1) in an analog manner, making it possible to determine the positions of the shelves (1) largely in accordance with the size of food items stored inside the refrigerator. More particularly, racks (14b) are provided on the left and right sides of the refrigerator's interior (12), gears (5) which engage these racks (14b) are provided on the shelves (1) of the refrigerator, and the food storage shelves (1) are raised and lowered by rotating these gears (5).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the danger caused by ignition when defrosting is performed under such environment that a combustible refrigerant has leaked, in a refrigerator using a combustible refrigerant. SOLUTION: This refrigerator is equipped with a compressor 9, a refrigeration cycle of evaporator 10 using a combustible refrigerant, a defrosting means 18 for defrosting the evaporator 10, and an inverter means 22 for varying the capacity of the said compressor 19, and this operates the defrosting means 18 by the inverter means 22, so this refrigerator can reduce the danger caused by the ignition of the combustible refrigerant because the temperature of the defrosting means 18 is under the ignition temperature of the combustible refrigerant.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To increase an oil returning amount within an accumulator and to enable a poor lubricating action at a sliding part of a compressor to be reduced. CONSTITUTION: This accumulator is comprised of a container 5 storing refrigerant; a partition plate 6 for dividing the container 5 into two chambers, i.e., A chamber 7 and B chamber 8; an inlet pipe connected to an upper part of the A chamber 7 of the container 5; a first outlet pipe 9 connected to a lower part of the A chamber 7 of the container 5; a second outlet pipe 10 inserted into the lower part of the B chamber 8 of the container 5 and having its one end connected to a side part of the first outlet pipe 9; and a separated pipe 11 having one outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the inlet pipe, having one end inserted into the inlet pipe and the other end being connected to the partition plate 6 at a position higher than that of an end surface of the second outlet pipe 10.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent an abnormal drop in suction pressure by a method wherein a header consists of a vessel to store liquid refrigerant, a refrigerant inlet pipe connected to the upper part of the vessel and a refrigerant outlet pipe inserted from below and a part of the outlet pipe is made up of a permeable membrane whose pours have diameters within a specified range. CONSTITUTION: A header 5 has such a construction that a refrigerant inlet pipe 10 is connected to the upper part of a vessel 11 and a refrigerant outlet pipe 9 is inserted into the vessel 11 from below. A hole is provided in a part of the refrigerant outlet pipe 9 and covered with a polytetrafluoroethylene-made permeable membrane 13 which has pours with diameters of 0.01-3μm and is supported by a porous resin 12. An evaporator is connected to the upper part of the inlet pipe 10 and a compressor is connected to the lower part of the outlet pipe 9 via a suction pipe 6. Thereby, an abnormal drop in suction pressure can be prevented and the specified refrigerating performance can be maintained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To rotate a spur gear so as not to run on a sliding flat surface and disengage from a rack even though mounting variations of the rack and of a slide groove are produced by making coplanar a rack tooth edge and the sliding flat surface. CONSTITUTION:As a driving device is actuated manually or by an electric motor, a gear shaft 4 and spur gears 5 are rotated to force the spur gear 5 to be engaged with a rack 14c and moved vertically. Hereby, a shelf and a frame 2 are vertically moved, kept horizontally by the spur gears 5 simultaneously vertically rotated on the left and right racks 14c. Thus, a slide member 3 moved vertically in the same sliding groove 14a can smoothly be slid without any slanting and allows operation force applied on a dial to be reduced. Further, since a rack teeth edge and a sliding flat surface are flush with each other, the spur gears 5 can be rotated without running on the sliding flat surface or without being disengaged from the racks 14c even though there are produced mounting variations of the racks 14c and the sliding groove 14a, and the slide member slides on the sliding flat surface during its sliding action.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To regulate the temperature of each freezing chamber to be an adequate temperature by providing cold air return ducts for No.1 freezing chamber, and cold air return ducts for No.2 and No.3 freezing chambers, that pass through the inside of No.2 partition wall, a temperature control device located in the rear portion of No.1 freezing chamber, and the inside of No.1 partition wall. CONSTITUTION:Cold air discharged into No.1 freezing chamber 3 through a damper thermostat 14b, and cold air discharged into No.2 freezing chamber 5 through a damper thermostat 14a are distributed into No.2 and No.3 freezing chambers 5 and 7 through a cold air return duct 19 in No.2 partition wall 4 and convection port 6a on a partition wall 6 respectively, and then returned to a refrigerating device 8 through a cold air return duct 16 in No.2 partition wall 4, a cold air return duct 17 in a temperature control device, and a cold air return duct 18 in No.1 partition wall. Thus, returning cold air from No.1, No.2 and No.3 is returned to the refrigerating device 8 without passing through No.1 freezing chamber. Therefore, even when No.1 or No.2 freezing chamber is assigned to a low temperature compartment, each compartment is regulated to an adequate temperature without generating irregular temperature zones due to returning cold air, and over-cooling.
