Abstract: A porous filter (53,54) having a pore size of no more than 80 mu m is provided in a refrigerant flow passage of a refrigeration system (50). The filter (53,54) may be provided in a drier (51) provided in the refrigerant flow passage or in a separate filter casing (52) provided in the refrigerant flow passage. Alternatively, the filter (53,54) may be provided in the refrigerant flow passage within a sealed casing (6) of a refrigerant compressor (1) which is incorporated in the refrigeration system (50).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a refrigerating plant and a refrigerant compressor which use 134a as a fluorocarbon refrigerant, are charged with lubricating oil containing esther as the main component, and has such a constitution that a decline in cooling capacity due to the blockage of a capillary tube caused by a contamination does not occur. CONSTITUTION:A filter made of a porous sintered metal has a void of 80mum or smaller and is inserted into a dryer of a refrigerating plant. Filters 62 and 74 made of a porous sintered metal have a void of 80mum or smaller and are attached on refrigerant flow paths in a closed vessel 6 of a refrigerant compressor.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a capillary tube from clogging due to the growth of contaminants by a method wherein a dryer with water-absorbent, which is enclosed in a cafe and held between two filters, is mounted on a refrigerant path between a condenser and an expansion device and a third filter is arranged in a case located apart from the filters. CONSTITUTION:A dryer is provided with a water-absorbent, e.g. a molecular sieve 13, enclosed in a metallic case 12 and first and second filters 14a and 14b which hold the molecular sieve 13 from both sides to fix it and mounted on a refrigerant path between a condenser 2 and an expansion device 4. A third filter 15 is held in a cup-shaped holder 16 which is put in the case 12 and fixed at a position a short distance away from the first and second filters 14a and 14b so that the third filter 15 is prevented from coming in contact with the first and second filters 14a and 14b and the molecular sieve 13. Thereby, contaminants to be deposited on a compressor, the condenser 2, an evaporator and a capillary tube as the expansion device 4 as well are filtered out.

CONSTITUTION:A cap 21 and a strainer 25 are formed and then a solid core 26 is further formed by expanding alumina, silica gel, calcium sulfide and alunosilicate or the like having water absorption and water retentivity.
