Abstract:
Organic polymers having water contact angles of 20 DEG or smaller, preferably 7 DEG or smaller and equipped with both high wettability and high transparency. The organic polymers may contain as partial structures polar structures of about 3 debyes or higher in dipole moment and are available especially from polymerization of polymerizable compounds having alkylene(thio)urea structures.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film having polarization selectivity and diffusivity as well as shape stability, and to provide a liquid crystal display device including the film as a polarizing diffusion film.SOLUTION: A polarizing diffusion film is provided, which comprises substantially one crystalline resin having an intrinsic birefringence of 0.1 or more, and the film has a total ray transmittance of 50 to 90% for visible rays, a transmission haze of 12 to 90% for visible rays, and a transmissive polarization degree of 20 to 90% for visible rays. A product of E and T, where E is a tensile elastic modulus measured at a stretching rate of 20% per minute at 70°C in a direction parallel to a reflection axis of the film, and T is an average film thickness, is 350 GPa μm or more. When the film is stretched at a rate of 20% per minute at 70°C in a direction perpendicular to the reflection axis, fracture elongation thereof, measured at 23°C and a rate of 20%/minute in a direction perpendicular to the reflection axis and parallel to the major surface of the film, is 5% or more.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely producing an organic fluorine compound at a low cost, which eliminates the defects of conventional methods. SOLUTION: This method for producing the organic fluorine compound is characterized by using both a urea hydrofluoride compound represented by formula (A) (R1 , R2 , R3 , and R4 are each identically or differently H or a 1 to 20C hydrocarbon group) and an oxidizing agent. Thereby, the organic fluorine compound can safely be produced at a low cost as one of fluorine gas alternative methods.
