Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently execute a uniform-quality electroless plating at all times by providing plural nozzles for separately dripping a processing soln. and a cleaning soln. onto the surface of a material to be plated on a rotating turntable. CONSTITUTION:The end face is erected at the periphery of a turntable 1 to form a side wall 2 having an inclination theta of 110-170 deg., and a mateiral to be plated is set. The table 1 is slowly rotated by a motor 3, and a pretreating soln. is dripped from a nozzle 9 to pretreat the material. The table 1 is then rotated at high speed to discharge the soln. to the outside of the table 1. An electroless plating soln. in a vessel 5 is then pressurized with nitrogen and dripped from another nozzle 9 through a filter 8, the table 1 is slowly rotated, and the material is plated. When plating is finished, the plating soln. is discharged from a discharge port 4, and ion-exchanged water is dripped from a nozzle 11 in the same way as in plating to clean the material. Consequently, the plated material having a dense surface is obtained without denaturing the bath.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject hydroquinone suitable for photograph, having a specific light transmittance when it is formed as an alkaline aqueous solution. CONSTITUTION: This hydroquinone has >=97% light transmittance in 420nm wavelength of a solution obtained by dissolving it in a concentration of 0.5wt.% into an alkaline aqueous solution. The hydroquinone is obtained by catalytically hydrogenating a commercial hydroquinone having 92-96% light transmittance and used as a raw material in an aqueous solution having pH liquid hourly space velocity in 0-20kg/cm hydrogen pressure, cooling the reacted liquid after finishing hydrogenation reaction and separating the resultant crystals.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To separate the titled compound efficiently, by dehydrating dimerizing hydroquinone in a water-immiscible solvent to give a reaction mixture and adding a blend of water and one or more selected from an alkyl ether, a dialkyl ketone, a carboxylic acid ester, etc., to the reaction mixture. CONSTITUTION:In obtaining 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether by dehydrating and dimerizing hydroquinone, the reaction is carried out by using a water-immiscible solvent such as mesitylene, xylene, toluene, cumene, etc. A liquid reaction mixture, obtained afterward, containing unreacted hydroquinone is incorporated with a blend of water and one or more selected from a group consisting of an alkyl ether, a dialkyl ketone, a carboxylic acid ester, >=4C aliphatic alcohol, a nitrile and a halogenated hydrocarbon into two liquid phases of a water phase and an oil phase, which are separated and the titled compound useful as a raw material for synthetic polymers and organic chemicals is obtained from the oil phase.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To recover the titled high-purity compound expected as a raw material for polymers or organic chemicals in high recovery ratio, by recrystallizing crude crystals of low-purity 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether using a specific solvent system and carrying out purification. CONSTITUTION:Crude crystals of low-purity 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether obtained by reaction of hydroquinone are recrystallized and purified using a mixed solvent consisting of a polar solvent, e.g. a 3-9C ketone, e.g. acetone, etc., 1-8C alcohol, 4-8C ether, 3-7C ester and a hydrocarbon solvent which may be substituted by a halogen, e.g. 2-10C aliphatic hydrocarbon, 6-12C aromatic hydrocarbon, e.g. toluene, etc., 5-10C alicyclic hydrocarbon, etc., preferably at room temperature-80 deg.C to afford the aimed compound in a purity as high as >=99% and a recovery ratio as high as >=70%. The weight ratio of the above-mentioned polar solvent to the hydrocarbon solvent which may be substituted by the halogen is 4/6-0.2-9.8.

Abstract: PURPOSE:The oligomerization of an olefin is effected using a catalyst, which is prepared by supporting a specific bis(cyclopentadienyl) metal compound on a solid inorganic acidic oxide and treating the product with a halogen-containing alkylaluminum, to produce a specific oligomers advantageously. CONSTITUTION:A bis(cyclopentadienyl) compound of a metal selected from Cr, Fe, Co and Ni, preferably of Ni is supported on a solid inorganic acidic oxide, then treated with a halogen-containing alkylaluminum so that the atomic ratio of Al/M becomes 0.5 or more. The oligomerization of a 2-6C olefin, preferably butene is carried out in the presence of the catalyst to form only a straight-chain oligomer or an oligomer bearing only one branch, especially dimer in high selectivity and yield. The catalyst can maintain high activity and selectivity even after repeated use. Further, when the activity is lowered by contaminants such as butadiene or water, the activity can be readily restored.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out the oligomerization of an aliphatic olefin in the presence of a catalyst having a specific Al/M atomic ratio and obtained by treating a composition supporting a transition metal (M) with a halogen-containing alkyl aluminum compound. CONSTITUTION:An oxide of a transition metal (M) selected from Ni, Co, Cr and Pd is supported on an acidic oxide (e.g. alumina, zeolite, etc.), and the obtained composition is treated with a halogen-containing alkyl aluminum compound (e.g. ethylaluminum sesquichloride) to obtain a catalyst having an Al/M atomic ratio of 0.5-10. A 2-6C aliphatic olefin is oligomerized in the presence of the above catalyst. Preferably, the olefin is a dehydrated aliphatic olefin containing extremely small amount of diolefin and is used together with hydrogen.

CONSTITUTION:Crude crystals of 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether obtained by condensing hydroquinone in the presence of a solid acid catalyst, e.g. synthetic mica, active clay, etc., are crystallized at a temperature within the range of 70-90 deg.C using a halogen-substituted benzene, e.g. chlorobenzene, etc., toluene or xylene as a crystallization solvent to purify the 4,4-dihydroxydiphenyl ether. The weight ratio of the crystallization solvent used to the crude crystals is about 3-15:1.

EFFECT:Since the separation is carried out without using distillation process, the separation process can be remarkably simplified.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To implement exfoliation processing of a stamper and removal of resist at once in a short time with a simple device with almost no damage to the master stamper by allowing an ultraviolet ray (UV) to radiate to the master stamper under the existence of ozone. CONSTITUTION:At least one of removal of resident photo resist from a master stamper, exfoliation processing of the master stamper and exfoliation processing of mother stamper is implemented under the presence of ozone through ultraviolet ray radiation. The resist resident on the surface of the stamper becomes a chemical compound with a low molecular weight by the UV radiation, and it is oxidized and decomposed by ozone. Then the Ni surface from which resist removed is oxidized by ozone and exfoliation of a copy stamper in the electrocasting processing is facilitated. Since the removal of resist and the exfoliation processing are implemented at once with a simple device, the processing time is very less and a damage to the stamper is less, then the quality is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily obtain the titled substance, by carrying out dehydrative dimerization reaction of hydroquinone in a water-immiscible solvent, contacting the liquid reaction mixture with water to extract unreacted hydroquinone and the titled substance to the water phase and precipitating the objective substance from the separated water phase. CONSTITUTION:Hydroquinone is subjective to dehydrative dimerization reaction in a water-immiscible solvent in the presence of a solid acid catalyst (e.g. synthetic mica, ion exchange resin, etc.). The resultant liquid reaction mixture is made to contact with water to extract the unreacted hydroquinone and the titled substance to water phase and the titled substance is precipitated from the separated water phase at =70 deg.C and the contacting temperature is >=55 deg.C (preferably 70-90 deg.C). EFFECT:Thermal decomposition of the product is prevented because the separation is carried out without applying excessive heat. USE:Raw material for synthetic polymers, organic chemicals, etc.
