    Abstract: This invention relates to fluorine containing polyimide, a novel aromatic diamine which has a perfluoroalkyl radical and can be used as a raw material monomer of the polyimide, and a process for preparing the same. The polyimide comprise a requisite structural unit having one or more recurring structural units of the formula: such as the structural units of the formula Further, the present invention relates to a novel aromatic diamine which has a perfluoro radical and can be used as a raw material monomer of the polyimide, and a process for preparing the same. The present invention can provide polyimide which has an extremely low dielectric constant and is colorless, transparent and excellent in processability and heat resistance, and also provides an aromatic diamine which is useful as a raw material monomer of the polyimide or a raw material of other various engineering plastics.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a catheter having a strength and a large elasticity by letting a specific quantity of aluminum borate whiskers included in a thermoplastic polyimide. SOLUTION: Aluminum borate whiskers by 5-50 pts.wt. are included in 100 pts.wt. polyimide resin having repeated units expressed by the formula. When the quantity of a fiber reinforcement material is less than 5 pts.wt., sufficient elasticity is not provided. When it exceeds 50 pts.wt., fusion viscosity of composition is increased, and extrusion performance becomes bad. In the formula, X denotes a group selected from among a group comprising direct coupling sulfur, or the like Y1 , Y2 , Y3 , and Y4 are each hydrogen, a 1-6C low alkyl group, and R1 is a tetravalent group selected from among non-condensed polycyclic aromatic groups mutually coupled by 4-9C aliphatic groups, or the like. A catheter having a strength and a large elasticity can thus be formed.
