    Abstract: PURPOSE:To practice a pressure welding with superior strength, by applying fine- grained powders of specific particle size as an inserting material between contacting surfaces of metallic materials and heating up all these materials to a temperature lower than a solid phase line of metallic materials. CONSTITUTION:The particle size of fine-grained metallic powders is 1mum-1mm. and the surface area of grained powders is about 10-100cm /g. The sintering temperature of metallic powders is a little lower than that of the lump of same metal. Both contacting surfaces of metallic materials are finished by grinding and washed and a thin layer of the powdered mixture containing fine-grained metallic powders or fine-grained powders is applied on the contacting surfaces. Then, these materials are kept combined by pressure force so that both contacting surfaces be closely touched to each other. Sintering and diffusing actions will proceed when all materials are kept heated in a vacuum or an inert gas atmosphere at a temperature not higher than each solid phase line of the mother materials and inserting material, but higher than a sintering temperature of the fine-grained powder material. The proper grading of the inserting material is about 0.01-1.0mg/1cm . Thus, the welded zone between metals is excellent in its strength, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and heat impact resistance and a residual strain can be minimized.

    MEASURING APPARATUS FOR VIBRATION OF ROTATING VANE

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure the vibration of rotating vanes in operation without contact by installing a detector for a reference point and a detector for the vane tip in order to measure the period of time from detecting the reference point to sensing the vane to be measured by a time counter. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 2 is equipped with vanes 4, and a detector S for the vane tip is installed so as to be opposed to the tip of the vanes 4. A disc 5, which has a reference point alpha, is installed to the rotary shaft 2, and a detector P for the reference point is arranged so as to be opposed to the disc. Signals from the detectors S and P are counted by a time counter CNTR which is actuated by a flip- flop FF and a presetting counter PC-0, in order to measure time. Thus, measuring the period of time from detecting the reference point to sensing the vane to be measured, and comparing this with the period of time previously obtained when the vane to be measured has not been displaced, permit the vibration of the rotating vanes in operation to be detected without contact.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the refractory property and the strength by making a sheath portion of a metal core wire. CONSTITUTION:One or more metal core wire 13 having a low electric resistance is inserted into a metal tube 12 having an elasticity and a diameter smaller than 2mm. A resistive thin film sensor 17, which is prepared by evaporating the surface of a base 18 of an insulating material such as ruby of semi-spherical thin plate with a platinum thin film 19, is fixed through a sensor mounting base 15 of an insulating material such as ceramics or sapphire to the leading end of a thin and flexible sheath portion 11 acting as a holder charged with an insulating filler 14 and a lead wire. Thus, the whole structure has a simple probe, and the size of the sensor 17 can be made equal to or smaller than the outside diameter of the sheath portion 11. Moreover, this sheath portion 11 has flexibility, thus attaining the desired object.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To regulate the concentration of fluid with only necessary energy, by sending the whirled fluid, a mixture of fluids having mass difference, into the concentration regulating chamber wherein the pressure and velocity are regulated correspondingly to the distribution of concentration, and by discharging the regulated fluid. CONSTITUTION:A mixture comprising fluids having different masses is sent from the inlet pipe 7 through the feed chamber 8 to the impeller 2. Wherein the fluid receives the energy of this impeller 2 and becomes a high-speed whirling fluid which then flows toward the chamber 10. In this chamber 10, the fluid builds up a pressure distribution having a great gradient in the radial direction owing to the centrifugal force of the high-speed whirling flow so that the inside of the chamber 10 becomes low pressure. Hereby, the part having larger mass of the mixed fluid exists in rich in the outer side and the part having smaller mass exists in rich in the inner side. Then the rotational velocity of the impeller 2 and the strength of the whirling flow of the chamber 10 are adjusted in order to regulate the concentration of the mixed fluid. After that, the energy of the fluid is again recovered and is used for driving the impeller 2.
