Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a colored non-absorptive material smooth and excellent in abrasion resistance and chemical resistance, by providing a printed layer on the surface of a non- absorptive material through specified steps by using a two-stage reaction ink comprising a compound capable of a photo-reaction or a thermal reaction and a compound capable of a thermal reaction, oxidation or a moisture-induced reaction. CONSTITUTION:A colored non-absorptive material is obtained by providing a printed layer on the surface of a non-absorptive material formed of a glass, a metal, an enamel, a resin film or the like by using a two-stage reaction ink comprising a compound having a double bond capable of a photo-reaction or a thermal reaction and a compound having a double bond or functional group capable of a thermal reaction, oxidation or a moisture-induced reaction. The colored non-absorptive material is obtained through a process comprising a step (1) of printing on the surface of the non-absorptive material, a step (2) of drying the surface of the printed layer obtained by the step (1) by irradiating the surface with UV rays, and a step (3) of printing on the printed layer or on other part of the non-absorptive material, and further comprising a step (4) of drying the surface of the printed layer obtained by the step (3) by irradiating the surface with UV rays, and a step of drying the printed layers obtained by the steps (1), (3) by bringing them into a thermal reaction, oxidation or a moisture-induced reaction.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To apply liquid substance in arbitrary film thickness by enabling the supporting position of both a bar and a trestle to be arbitrarily changed to the direction vertical to the face on which coating is applied. CONSTITUTION:The shafts for supporting a bar 1 are formed to both ends of the bar 1. The shafts of the bar 1 are perforated in the side faces of a trestle 2 and the long holes capable of vertically moving are provided. The screws capable of regulating height of the bar 1 by pushing the shafts 1 of the bar 1 from the upper parts of the long holes are provided. The shafts of both ends of the bar 1 are fixed at once to a bar fitting base and this bar fitting base is supported so that it can be vertically moved for the trestle 2. Film thickness is regulated by fitting a micrometer to the trestle 2 and moving this to push the shafts into both ends of the bar 1 and regulating height of the bar 1. Thereby arbitrary film thickness can be obtained by coating.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a metal mask enabling the formation of an accurate pattern by coating the front side of a metal sheet with an etching resist film and the rear side with a photoresist film, patterning the photoresist film through a photomask and etching the metal sheet. CONSTITUTION:One side of the metal sheet 1 of about 20-100mum thickness such as a stainless steel sheet is coated with the etching resist film 2 and the other side with the photoresist film 3 of about 2-10mum thickness. The photomask 4 is superposed on the photoresist film 3 and the film 3 is patternwise exposed through the photomask 4. The unnecessary parts of the partially exposed film 3 are removed by development to pattern the film 3, the metal sheet 1 is etched to make holes through which ink passes in the sheet 1 and then the etching resist film 2 is removed. The metal mask enabling the formation of the accurate pattern is easily produced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the adhesive property of the metal mask and material to be printed by patterning the photoresist films on both faces of a metallic plate and etching the same, then removing the resist film on the surface which does not come into contact with the material to be printed. CONSTITUTION:The photoresist films 2, 3 are respectively formed on both faces of the metallic plate 1 such as stainless steel plate. Photomasks 4 are then respectively imposed on the films 2, 3 in such a manner that the ink transmission holes thereof are registered. The resist films are then exposed and developed from both faces and thereafter, the plate 1 is etched in the part where the films 2, 3 are removed. The film 2 of the surface which does not come into contact with the material to be printed is then removed. The film 2 is preferably formed of a positive type resist and the film 3 of a negative type resist. The remaining films function as soft layers according to this method and, therefore, the adhesive property to the material to be printed is improved and the precise patterns free from ink blurring are obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a color filter having good accuracy with decreased stages by providing an active film layer consisting of a metal oxide and ink layer contg. a coloring material, migrating the coloring material to color the active film layer, and sealing the active film layer with a thin metallic film layer, then removing the ink layer and the thin metallic film layer. CONSTITUTION:The active film layer 2 consisting of the metal oxide such as active alumina or active silica is formed on a transparent substrate 1 consisting of a glass plate, synthetic resin plate or synthetic resin film and the ink layer is patterned and laminated on the active film layer 2. The coloring material ion the ink layer 3 is then migrated into the fine pores in the active film layer 2 and thereafter, the thin metallic film layer 4 is formed by electroless plating on the active film layer 2 formed with the ink layer 3. The substrate is immersed in warm water kept at >=90 deg.C or aq. nickel acetate soln. kept at >=90 deg.C to seal the pores in order to prevent the elution of the coloring material adsorbed into the fine pores of the active film layer 2. The unnecessary ink layer 3 formed on the active film layer 2 and the unnecessary thin metallic film layer 4 formed on the ink layer 3 are removed. The need for the registration for the purpose of black matrix formation is thereby eliminated and the generation of a misregistration is obviated. The stages are thus simplified and the rate of non- defective articles is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable efficient and economical production by providing an active film layer which consists of a metal oxide on a transparent substrate and providing an ink layer of ink contg. a coloring material, then providing a resist layer thereon, thermally migrating the coloring agent into the active film layer to color the active film layer and removing the ink layer and the resist layer. CONSTITUTION:The active film layer 2 which consists of the metal oxide is formed on the transparent substrate 1 and the ink layer 3 is formed on the active film layer 2, following which the resist layer 4 is formed over the entire surface of the ink layer 3. The coloring material in the ink layer 3 is thermally migrated into the fine pores of the active film layer 2 to color said layer. The active film layer 2 is then sealed at need and the unnecessary ink layer 3 and the resist layer 4 formed on the active film layer 2 are removed. Since the splashing of the coloring agent into the air is thereby prevented, the efficiency of the coloration is improved and the production is economical, as the consumption of more than the need coloring agent is obviated. Since the splashed coloring agent does not stain the other colored parts, the color filter having high saturation is obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a color filter having a high contrast and excellent smoothness by providing an active film layer consisting of a metal oxide on a transparent substrate, providing a thin metallic film pattern and ink layer thereon, coloring the active film layer and sealing said layer, then removing the ink layer. CONSTITUTION:An alumina sol is spray coated on one face of a transparent glass plate 1 and is dried and calcined, following which the active film layer 2 having about 2mum layer thickness is formed thereon. A resist having UV ray sensitivity is coated on this glass plate 1 and is exposed to a prescribed pattern 4. After the resist in the part where a black matrix is required is removed, the glass plate is immersed into a catalyst liquid. The plate is immersed in an electroless plating bath and is subjected to nickel plating. The resist film is removed upon ending of the plating. Red, green, and blue colored inks are thereafter printed in stripe patterns of 0.35mm width on the plate and are heated to migrate the coloring agents to the active film layer 2. The plate is then immersed in boiling water to seal the active film layer 2. The ink layers 3 are removed by acetone. The color filter having the high contrast and excellent smoothness is thereby obtd. with fewer stages.
