Abstract: A ceramic conversion element, a light-emitting device and a method for producing a ceramic conversion element are disclosed. In an embodiment a ceramic conversion element includes a central region with a structured top surface including a plurality of structure elements and a frame surrounding the central region, the frame having a planar top surface, wherein the central region and the frame are formed as one piece, and wherein the ceramic conversion element is configured to convert primary radiation into secondary radiation of a different wavelength range.

Abstract: The present invention refers to a process of manufacturing a conversion element, comprising: A) providing one or more precursor materials, comprising lutetium, aluminium and a rare - earth element, B) mixing of the one or more precursor materials with a binder and a solvent such that a slurry is obtained, C) forming a green body from the slurry of step B) F) sintering the green body to obtain the conversion element, wherein sintering is performed at a temperature of more than 720°C. Moreover, a conversion element and a light emitting device comprising said conversion element are provided.
