Abstract:
An optical disk for recording stereoscopic videos and high-quality video signals and a system for reproducing the videos and signals from the optical disk are made compatible with the conventional video reproducing system A reproducing device which is used for reproducing stereoscopic videos and high-quality videos obtains stereoscopic video or high-quality videos by reproducing both first and second interleaved blocks on the optical disk in which first and second video signals are alternately recorded on the left and right sides by dividing the first and second video signals into frame groups of one GOP or more and a reproducing device which is not used for reproducing the stereoscopic videos and high-quality videos obtains ordinary videos by only reproducing either the first or second interleaved block by jumping tracks.
Abstract:
An information recording medium suitable for optical discs such as DVD-RAM is provided for integrated management of data as objects in different kinds of AV formats. Also apparatus is provided for data recording and playing to the medium. The medium stores management. information including program chain information (PGC information) defining the playback order of the objects, and object information containing information relevant to the objects. The object information has general information of the object, attribute information and a map associating a playback time point of the object with an address on the optical disc of a component of the object to be played. The PGC information has cell information including information about type of object, identification information. The order of the cell information in the PGC information corresponds to the order in which the objects are played back.
Abstract:
A large-capacity optical disk (M) on which a plurality of system streams containing mutually-interleaved moving picture data and audio data are recorded. The system streams (VOB) are smoothly connected to each other. In each system stream (VOB) recorded on the disk (M), the STC which Is referred to by signal processing decoders (3801, 3100, and 3200) in decoding the first system stream and the STC which is referred to by the signal processing decoders (3801, 3100, 3200) in decoding the second system stream which is successively reproduced after the first system stream are switched to each other. A reproducing device (DCD) for reproducing the data from the disk (M) is also disclosed.
Abstract:
AN OPTICAL DISC THAT IS REPRODUCING APPARATUS HAS A STILL PICTURE DATA AND AN AUDIO DATA WHICH ARE REPRODUCED SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE STILL PICTURE DATA IS STORED IN A VIDEO PART STREAM (ST1) COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF UNITS, AND THE AUDIO DATA IS STORED IN A SECOND SYSTEM STREAM (ST2) COMPRISING ONE OR A PLURALITY OF UNITS. THE UNITS STORE TIME STAMP INFORMATION SO THAT THE SECOND SYSTEM STREAM (ST2) FOLLOWS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE VIDEO PART STREAM (ST1). BY CHANGING THE DATA IN THE SECOND SYSTEM STREAM (ST2 ), THE AUDIO DATA PRESENTED WITH A STILL PICTURE CAN BE FREELY AND EASILY CHANGE EVEN AFTER AFTER RECORDING THE STILL PICTURE DATA USING AN MPEG STANDARD FORMAT.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk in which three-dimensional videos and high-quality video images are recorded and a system for reproducing them, which achieves compatibility with the conventional system for reproducing ordinary videos. SOLUTION: Interleave blocks are obtained by dividing first and second video signals into frame groups of one GOP or more and alternately recording the video signals on the right and left sides on an optical disk 1. In a three-dimensional/high-quality image compatible reproducing device, either stereoscopic videos or high-quality videos are obtained by reproducing both of the first and second interleave blocks. In a three-dimensional/high-quality image non-compatible reproducing device, ordinary videos are obtained by reproducing only one of the first and second interleave blocks by performing track jump.
