A data providing method is carried out by a computer (460) built in a data processing system (1) which is designed to collect log information from electronic devices through a network (30) and provide services based on that log information for authenticated users. The data providing method includes: receiving an air conditioner (102a, 102b)'s log information through the network; generating display data by reference to pieces of information which are included in the air conditioner's log information and which indicate (i) a preset temperature of the air conditioner, (ii) an outdoor temperature outside a living space in which the air conditioner is installed, and (iii) an indoor temperature of the living space in which the air conditioner is installed, the display data representing a trend of change of a turnaround time that indicates how long it takes from when the air conditioner starts operating until the indoor temperature reaches the preset temperature; and providing the display data for an authenticated user's display terminal (130a, 130b).

In order to enhance security of a parked vehicle, an image transmitting device (100) to be mounted on a vehicle includes: a checking unit (184) that checks, at a parking place of the vehicle, communicability with an external device outside of the vehicle, that is, whether an image can be transmitted from the parking place to the external device; a providing unit (185) that provides notification information based on a result of the checking by the checking unit (184); a capturing unit (181) that captures an image while the vehicle is parked; and a transmitting unit (183) that transmits the image captured by the capturing unit (181) to the external device.

In a reservation system that reserves a charger to charge a power source of an electric automobile, a control method of an information processing device is provided enabling a charger to be reserved, taking into consideration arriving at a destination earlier. The information processing device is caused to search for a charger existing within a predetermined range from a current location in a case where the battery level has been determined to have fallen below a first threshold value, and in a case where a destination has been set in the application and in a case where a plurality of searched chargers exist, to calculate a predicted charging end point-in-time at each charger, based on a predicted arrival point-in-time to each charger and the availability state and charging capability of each charger, and in a case where with the calculated predicted charging end point-in-time for each charger as the departure point-in-time from each charger, to effect control to reserve a charger of which the predicted destination arrival point-in-time is the earliest of the calculated predicted destination arrival point-in-times for each charger.

A server receives log information including an operational state of one electric home appliance inside a house from the one electric home appliance, receives information indicating the operational state of the one electric home appliance from another electric home appliance that is capable of monitoring the operational state of the one electric home appliance, and receives positional information of a display terminal of a user of the electric home appliance from the display terminal. When it is determined that a position of the display terminal is within a rang of a prescribed distance from the house and when it is determined that the log information and the information indicating the operational state of the one electric home appliance are not consistent with each other, the server provides the display terminal with information on a possibility of a malfunction of the one electric home appliance while the position of the display terminal is still within the range of the prescribed distance from the house.
