Abstract: Pedestrians (10) may carry anti-collision warning gear (1') with radio transmitters. The vehicle (9) carries an anti-collision module (1) which contains a radio receiver (4) and radio transmitter (3) acting as a transponder. The transponder and a GPS receiver (5) are connected to a control circuit (2) which may calculate the danger of a collision. A journey data input terminal (6) and an actuator (7) are connected to the computer, and there is also a connection to a display on the dashboard (8).

Abstract: Wireless networks in ISM bands are usually established by placing access points that link terminals to each other and to networks. This situation may pose problems when networks are established individually without coordination, for example, in different apartments of apartment buildings. According to the present invention, access points establish a communication channel, linking each other, to cooperatively coordinate and optimize the use of frequencies/channels. Advantageously, interferences occurring in such networks may be reduced.

Abstract: The invention relates to a security system for wireless networks, comprising a first portable unit ( 1 ) with a memory ( 3 ) for storing a worldwide unambiguous key record ( 4 ) provided for short-range information transmission of the key record ( 4 ). At least one wireless apparatus ( 2 ) of the network is provided with a receiving unit ( 7 ) comprising a receiver ( 9 ) for receiving the key record ( 4 ) and an evaluation component ( 11 ) of the apparatus for storing, processing and/or passing on the key record ( 4 ) or a part of the key record to a second component. Due to the key record, the apparatuses in the wireless network acquire a secret shared key by means of which the encryption and decryption of the transmitted useful data and/or the authentication is performed. In accordance with an optional embodiment of the invention, the key record in the portable unit can be derived from biometric characteristics of a user.
