Abstract:
The invention describes a gas-discharge lamp (1) comprising a vessel (5), which vessel is partially coated with an essentially rectangular stripe (Sv) arranged circumferentially on a surface of the vessel, and wherein a first long side (14) of the stripe is situated close to a base (6) of the lamp, and the width (wv) of the stripe is such that a first angle (a?2) subtended at a lamp centre between a radius (r) and a point on the first long side (14) of the stripe comprises at most 55°, and a second angle (av1) subtended at the lamp centre between the radius and a point on a second long side (15) of the stripe comprises at most 50°. The invention also describes a reflector for a lamp, comprising a reflective interior surface realised to deflect light originating from the lamp outward to give a specific beam profile with a bright/dark cutoff line and a shoulder, and wherein the lamp, in particular a lamp as described above, is positioned horizontally in the reflector, and wherein the reflective interior surface comprises at least one beam-shaping region realised to deflect a portion of the light emitted from the lamp between 7.5° and 15° below a horizontal plane, at a specific region within the beam profile.
Abstract:
It is provided a lamp (12) for an automotive headlamp (10), comprising a filament coil (14) for emitting light (22) and a nominal alignment axis (32) for aligning the filament coil (14) such, that the filament coil (14) is positioned in the middle of an allowable tolerance box wherein the filament coil (14) is arranged shifted to the nominal alignment axis (32). Due to the shifted arrangement of the filament coil (14) the flexibility given by the allowable tolerance may be used for positioning the filament coil (14) such, that the projected image (18) of the filament coil (14) is projected nearer to the bright/dark-cutoff (40) without blinding oncoming traffic.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lamp for motor vehicles at least comprising a light source, which is arranged in a bulb (3) and has a luminous region (9), wherein one region (5) of the bulb (3) has at least one light-reflective element, which reflects a part of the light radiation of the light source so as to be directed into the interior of the bulb (3), and wherein the reflected part of the light radiation arrives in a region (10) lying close to the luminous region (9).
Abstract:
The invention describes a gas-discharge lamp (1) comprising a vessel (5), which vessel (5) is partially coated with at least one longitudinal stripe (SH, SH') arranged on the surface of the vessel (5) below a horizontal plane (P) through a longitudinal axis (X) through the centre of the lamp (1) such that, on each side of the lamp, an angle (ß?1, ßH2) subtended at the lamp centre by the horizontal plane (P) and an upper edge (16, 17) of the longitudinal stripe (SH, SH') on that side of the lamp comprises at least 10°, more preferably at least 13°, most preferably at least 15°. The invention also describes a reflector (8) for a lamp (1), comprising a reflective interior surface realised to deflect light (L20A, L20B, L21A, L21B) originating from the lamp (1) outward to give a specific beam profile (3) with a bright/dark cut-off line (31) and a shoulder (32), and wherein the lamp (1), in particular a lamp (1) according to any of claims 1 to 12, is positioned horizontally in the reflector (8), and wherein the reflective interior surface comprises at least one beam-shaping region (81 A, 81B) realised to deflect a portion (L21A, L21B) of the light (L20A, L20B, L21A, L21B), emitted from the lamp (1) between 7.5° and 15° below a horizontal plane (P), at a specific region (21A, 21B) within the beam profile (3). The invention further describes a lighting assembly (9) comprising such a reflector (8) and a lamp (1), in particular a lamp (1) according to the invention.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lamp (10) and a vehicle headlight. The lamp (10) comprises a discharge vessel (16) with electrodes (20) arranged at a distance for creating an arc discharge. The envelope (22) has cylindrical shape with a cylinder wall extending straight in longitudinal direction. A reflective barrier (28) is arranged at least partly sur rounding said discharge vessel for reflecting light emitted from the arc discharge. To obtain an optimally focused reflection, the discharge vessel (16) is configured such that the arc (50) is essentially straight. The reflective barrier (28) also extends straight in longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lamp (1) within a vehicle headlamp for a night-sight application, with a bulb (5, 6) that generates visible light and infrared light. In accordance with the invention, the bulb (5) is equipped with a coating (8) that reflects middle infrared radiation and is transparent to near infrared radiation. The output efficiency of the lamp (1) is thereby increased, in particular in the near infrared spectral range.
Abstract:
A discharge lamp (1) is provided with a discharge vessel (2) comprising a discharge vessel wall made at least partly of a transparent ceramic material, said dis¬ charge vessel wall enclosing a discharge chamber (3) with opposing first (11) and second ends (12), a filling, provided in said discharge chamber (3), a first electrode (7) comprising a first projecting end (8) and a second electrode (5) comprising a second projecting end (6). The first electrode (7) is arranged to project into the chamber (3) from the first end (11) and the second electrode (5) is arranged to project into the chamber (3) from the second end (12). The discharge chamber wall comprises at least one joining seam (4), resulting from a joining of at least two parts (2a, 2b) of ceramic material.
