Abstract: The invention relates to a method of forming a scannogram for a computed tomography apparatus. During the acquisition of the measured values for the scannogram, the scanning unit or the radiation source rotates about the examination zone and a 3D data set is reconstructed from the measured values acquired during the acquisition. A synthetic projection image which acts as the scannogram can be calculated from such a 3D data set.

Abstract: Computer tomograph has a conical radiation beam that is moved in a helical examination path with a significant overlapping between the individual helices of the examination path. In order to select the best data from amongst the redundant data, a heat movement detection and signaling device is provided. The recorded CT data is correlated with the movement data and the data selected from the times at which there was minimum heart movement. An Independent claim is made for a CT method for recording and selecting CT data so that data is chosen corresponding to the periods of minimum heart movement.

Abstract: Photon counting detectors may suffer from pulse sharing effects and fluorescence photon generation, which may lead to a degradation of the measured signals. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a detector unit is provided which is adapted for performing a coincidence detection and correction by comparing detection events of neighbouring cells, thereby providing for a coincidence identification followed by an individual coincidence correction. In order to reduce the number of coincidence detection and corresponding units per detector unit, a specific detector cell geometry may be applied.

Abstract: The invention relates to a CT imaging system for determining the flow of a substance within an object, wherein the CT imaging system comprises a polychromatic X-ray source and an energy-resolving X-ray detector for obtaining detection signals depending on the X-ray radiation after passing through the object.
