Abstract: Providing for improved wireless communications for user equipment (UE) in a semi-active state is described herein. By way of example, a base station can employ particular wireless channel resources, monitored by a UE in a CELL_FACH state for instance, to trigger channel feedback information from the UE. The trigger can comprise an explicit order instructing the UE to provide data in response, or can include a portion of downlink traffic targeting the UE, where the UE is configured to respond in a suitable manner to receipt of traffic data. The UE can maintain the CELL_FACH state in receiving to and responding to the trigger, and can further receive subsequent traffic data in such state. Accordingly, the subject disclosure provides for improved efficiency and reliability in semi-active state wireless communications.

A control packet is only sent with a retransmission of a data packet where the previously transmitted data packet is not completely received. The control packet contains information related to a previously transmitted data packet. The previously transmitted data packet and the retransmission data packet are derived from common data. The common data is derived based on the information related to the previously transmitted data packet, wherein the previously transmitted data packet and the retransmission data packet are associated with a series of data packets.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Various autonomous uplink control channel configurations may be used for unscheduled uplink transmissions. For example, a user equipment (UE) may initiate an unscheduled uplink transmission and may identify an autonomous uplink control channel configuration for the uplink transmission. The UE may transmit control information and data during an initial transmission time interval of a transmission opportunity according to the control channel configuration, where the control channel configuration control may include a number of different waveforms and payload configurations. For example, an autonomous uplink control channel configuration may include control information frequency division multiplexed or time division multiplexed with data and transmitted in one or more frequency interlaces. In some cases, the control channel configuration may include a symbol period for a clear-to-send signal, and one or more symbol periods used a guard period before the data transmission.
