PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and apparatuses for communicating in an ultra-wideband transmission.SOLUTION: The method includes, at a first device in communication with at least one second device via a wireless link, monitoring at least one resource for performing at least one function. The method further includes determining whether to assign the at least one function to the at least one second device. The determination is based on information that is indicative of at least a function and indicative of at least one resource of the at least one second device. Other aspects include apparatuses and devices for communicating data, including following one or more aspects of the method. For example, some aspects include devices such as headsets, watches, and medical devices configured to use such methods and apparatuses for communicating data.

Presence management may be based on one or more determined distances. A distance-related function may take various forms including, for example, a distance between devices, two or more distances between devices, a rate of change in a relative distance between devices, relative acceleration between devices, or some combination of two or more of the these distance-related functions.

Providing for distribution of a dynamic mobile coupon (DMC) based on verified peer-to-peer (P-P) ranging between two wireless devices is described herein. By way of example, a first device can form a wireless link with a mobile device and initiate P-P ranging. By analyzing signals sent over the wireless link, a distance between such devices can be determined. In addition, at least a minimum distance between such devices can be verified based on actions performed by the mobile device that require a minimum completion time. Based in part on this verified distance, a DMC can be issued to the mobile device. Accordingly, the subject disclosure provides for increased security for issuing the DMC and mitigation of device spoofing, by verifying a minimum distance to the mobile devices and conditioning issuance of the DMC on such verified distance.

Asynchronous media communications (AMC) provided new modality for communications when regular voice calls are not appropriate and when text messaging is too complicated or fails to convey the proper emotion. AMC combines voice messaging with key innovative features such as tagging and threading of voice strings on a recipient device. Communication can take place on a one-to one or one-to-many basis.
