Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, to mitigate a denial of service attack to a power line communication (PLC) network. A first node of the PLC network may activate a countermeasure that enables the PLC network (including the first node and a second node) to continue to communicate when one or more transmissions associated with a denial of service attack are injected onto the communication medium. This disclosure includes several techniques to detect a denial of service attack and several countermeasures that may be implemented. For example, a countermeasure may include the use of a custom preamble or a custom priority resolution symbol that is specific to the PLC network. The first node and the second node may disregard transmissions that do not conform to the custom preamble or custom priority resolution symbol.

Abstract: An electric vehicle can be configured to execute an association procedure with one or more charging stations in a charging facility to securely connect to and receive electric power from one of the charging stations. The electric vehicle can broadcast one or more service matching messages to the charging stations and, in response, can receive attenuation information from one or more of the charging stations. The electric vehicle can analyze the attenuation information received from the charging stations to identify with which charging station the electric vehicle should associate (e.g., to determine which charging station should provide electric power to the electric vehicle). The electric vehicle can then associate with (and receive electric power from) the identified charging station.

Either the expected air time parameter or an estimated air time fraction determined (e.g., calculated) from the expected air time parameter may be transmitted from the AP to the STA (or other communication device) to allow the STA (or other communication device) to determine an estimated throughput for communications using the AP.

According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications is provided. The method generally includes receiving, on a shared access medium, a packet having at least one deferral-related parameter and deciding whether to defer transmission on the shared access medium based, at least in part, on the deferral-related parameter. Another method may generally include generating a packet comprising at least one deferral-related parameter to be used by another apparatus for deciding whether or not the other apparatus should defer transmitting on a shared access medium and providing the packet to the other apparatus.
