Abstract:
Aspects described herein relate to using antenna-switched diversity (ASDIV) in wireless communications. A serving node can be communicated with using a serving radio access technology (RAT) and based on an ASDIV configuration, wherein the ASDIV configuration defines an antenna switching configuration including a state of one or more switches in an ASDIV switch group for switching between one or more antennas for the communicating based on sensing one or more parameters of the communicating. It can be determined whether a target RAT supports operating using a same ASDIV switch group as the serving RAT. A target node can be communicated with using the target RAT and based on the ASDIV configuration where the target RAT operates using the same ASDIV switch group as the serving RAT.
Abstract:
Various embodiments include methods for reporting quality metrics of a wireless communication device to a network that includes scheduling, on the wireless communication device, a tune-away from a first carrier of a first subscription to a second subscription. Quality metrics of the first carrier before the tune-away begins are calculated and stored as frozen quality metrics. During the tune-away, the wireless communication device sends the stored frozen quality metrics to the network. The stored frozen quality metrics may continue to be sent to the network as long as the duration of the tune-away is shorter than a time threshold. If the duration of the tune-away exceeds the time threshold, the wireless communication device may calculate and send actual quality metrics of the carrier to the network.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify parameters related to a secondary cell (SCell) of a carrier aggregation configuration and may select an acknowledgement mode during a tune-away period in order to monitor a different network or radio access technology. The UE may determine whether the SCell is scheduled using cross-carrier scheduling, whether the variance in resources used for physical uplink control channel transmission is below a threshold, whether the scheduling correlation between a primary cell (PCell) of the carrier aggregation configuration and the SCell is below a threshold, and/or whether the length of the tune-away period is below a threshold. Based on the identified parameters, the UE may, for example, transmit one or more false acknowledgements for messages on the SCell during the tune-away period to ensure that a serving base station does not deactivate the SCell.
