Abstract:
A broadband double-ridge waveguide magic tee employing two rods for connecting the upper ridge of the H-arm of the magic tee to both ridges of the E-arm of the magic tee. The upper ridges of each of the colinear side arms is connected to the nearest ridge of the E-arm. The lower ridges of the colinear side arms and the H-arm are connected to each other.
Abstract:
An RF limiter includes a section of transmission line having ferrite material so arranged therewith and biased as to act as a reciprocal limiter. An RF signal passing in one direction through the transmission line is reflected so that the signal passes back through the transmission line in the opposite direction. The reflected signal is delayed at least a time period approximately equal to the fall time of a leading edge spike such that, when the delayed RF reflected signal reaches the transmission line section, the ferrite material in the transmission line section is in its nonlinear operating condition.
Abstract:
A frequency translator is described that includes a toroid of gyromagnetic material extending along a length of waveguide. The toroid has demagnetizing gaps along its length. RF signals propagating along the waveguide are frequency deviated by the application of sawtooth current coupled through and along the toroid as modulating signals therefor.
Abstract:
A circulator includes a pair of magic tees and a pair of coupling paths therebetween. Each of the coupling paths includes a differential phase shifter. The differential phase shifter in a first path is arranged to provide a differential phase shift that increases with increase in frequency. The second differential phase shifter in the second path is arranged to provide a differential phase shift that decreases with increase in frequency. A reciprocal phase shifter is in the first path in series with the first differential phase shifter.
Abstract:
A cathodoluminescent display device is composed of a plurality of channels. Each of the channels includes spaced guide meshes between which electrons from an electron gun are propagated as beams. At the end of the channels away from the electron gun is a collector and a deflection electrode. The guide meshes are extended between the collector and deflection electrode. Collection apertures in the extended portions pass electrons to the collector. Collection of the electrons by the collector generates a signal which is sensed and used to maintain uniformity of the characteristics of the beams.
