    Abstract: An electronic phase shift circuit suitable for construction in integrated circuit form as a tint control or as an automatic frequency and phase control for a color oscillator, or the like. In the phase shift circuit, input signals are coupled via two signal paths to a signal adding or summing circuit. Predetermined but different phase shifts are provided in the two signal paths. Additionally, one signal path includes a differential control circuit responsive to applied control signals for varying the amplitude of signals coupled through that path. The resultant phase of the sum of the signals with respect to the phase of the input signals is variable according to the magnitude of applied control signals.

    Abstract: 1306163 Transistor amplifiers; colour television receiver RCA CORPORATION 30 April 1970 [8 May 1969] 20771/70 Headings H3T and H4F An amplifier comprises transistors 60, 61; a resistive voltage divider including resistors 56, 57 coupled between the base of transistor 60 and a reference potential (e.g. earth); a D.C. coupling between a tapping point on the divider and the base of transistor 61; means coupling the emitter of transistor 61 to a reference potential; means coupling the collectors of both transistors and the divider 56, 57 to a source of potential; and a third resistor 62 coupled between the emitters of the two transistors, the value of the resistor 62 being such that the voltage drop across it is equal to that between the base of transistor 60 and the tapping point on the divider. The transistors 60, 61 constitute the chroma and burst amplifiers respectively in a colour TV receiver, the amplifier 60 being switched by a colour killer signal applied to transistor 75 and the amplifier 61 being switched on during a colour burst by a keying pulse applied to transistor 121.

    Abstract: Brightness control apparatus for a video signal image reproducing system including a video signal processing channel, a kinescope driver for supplying video signals to an image reproducing kinescope, and a source of substantially fixed potential to which signals processed by the kinescope driver are referenced. A comparator senses the substantially fixed reference potential and a blanking level which occurs during periodic blanking intervals of the video signal, and provides an output control signal indicative of the voltage difference between the reference potential and the blanking level. The control voltage is applied to the video channel for translating the blanking level in a direction to minimize the voltage difference, to thereby establish the conduction of the kinescope driver during image intervals of the video signal at a level corresponding to a desired image black level condition when such condition is manifested by the video signal.

Transistors 10, 12 are connected as a differential amplifier an input signal being applied to the base of 10 at e in and to the base of 12 via transistor 14 and resistor 28. The transistors 12 and 14 form a degenerate feedback loop and ensure adequate gain from a circuit without decoupling capacitors which have been left out in order to facilitate manufacture by I.C. technique. An inverted output, e 0 , is obtainable at the collector of 10 and in Fig. 1 (not shown), also an in-phase output (e 0 1 ) at the collector of 12.
