Disclosed is an intercrosslinked multilayer polymeric article, comprising; (A) at least one thermoplastic polymer layer in contact with (B) at least one crosslinkable polymer layer, wherein (A) and (B) are incompatible with each other, and wherein (A) and (B) are secured together by intercrosslinking. Also disclosed is a method for preparing an intercrosslinked multilayer polymeric article.

A bushing can include a load bearing substrate having a first major surface, an adhesive film overlying the first major surface, and a friction reducing layer overlying the adhesive film. A method can include extruding an adhesive film, laminating a friction reducing layer to a load bearing substrate with the adhesive film therebetween to form a composite, and shaping the composite to form a bushing. The adhesive film can include a first adhesive layer, such as and a fluoropolymer layer. The adhesive layer can include a modified ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, and the fluoropolymer layer can include an ethylene tetrafluoroethylene.

A method for forming a flexible circuit board includes placing an adhesive coated coverlay (104) over a flexible media (102), placing a release film over the adhesive coated coverlay and compressing together the flexible media, the adhesive coated coverlay, and the release film. The flexible media includes circuitry (110). The release film includes a multi-layer film having first and second layers. The first layer includes an elastomer and the second layer includes a f luoropolymer.

Abstract:
Disclosed is an intercrosslinked multilayer polymeric article having at least one thermoplastic polymer layer intercrosslinked by UV radiation at the interface with a core layer of a crosslinkable polymer. The selection of the thermoplastic polymer and the crosslinkable polymer is such that a coextruded composite product of these materials has poor interlayer adhesion prior to radiation treatment. However, the interfacial intercrosslinking provides superior bonding between the layers. The same UV radiation for intercrosslinking typically can also cure the crosslinkable polymer to give the multilayer article excellent structural integrity. Also disclosed is a method for preparing an intercrosslinked multilayer polymeric article.
