    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool insert consisting of a cemented carbide substrate and a coating. SOLUTION: The cemented carbide substrate comprises WC, cobalt of 4-7 wt.%, cubic carbide of 6-9 wt.% forming metals from groups IVb and Vb, preferably titanium, tantalum and niobium, with a binder phase enriched surface zone with a thickness of >20 μm, preferably between 21 and 50 μm. The coating comprises a first layer of Ti (C, N) adjacent to the cemented carbide substrate having a thickness of from about 3 to about 15 μm, an alumina layer adjacent to the first layer having a thickness of from about 3 to 15 μm and composed of α-Al 2 O 3 , and a further layer of carbide, nitride or carbonitride adjacent to the alumina layer having a thickness of from about 1 to 10 μm. The total thickness of the coating is less than 30 μm, preferably less than 20 μm. The insert according to the invention exhibits favorable wear resistance and edge strength when turning steel.     Abstract: Vložka řezného nástroje sestává ze substrátu ze slinutého karbidu, opatřeného povlakem. Substrát ze slinutého karbidu obsahuje WC, 4 až 7 % hmotn. kobaltu, 6 až 9 % hmotn. kovů tvořících kubické karbidy ze skupin IVb a Vb, s výhodou titanu, tantalu a niobu, přičemž substrát ze slinutého karbidu má povrchovou oblast s obohacením pojivovou fází o tloušťce >20 .mi.m, s výhodou od 21 do 50 .mi.m. Povlak obsahuje první vrstvu přilehlou ke karbidovému substrátu z Ti (C, N), mající tloušťku od 3 do 15 .mi.m, vrstvu oxidu hlinitého přilehlou k uvedené první vrstvě, mající tloušťku od 3 do 15 .mi.m, která sestává z .alfa.-Al.sub.2.n.O.sub.3.n., a další vrstvu přilehlou k vrstvě oxidu hlinitého z karbidu, karbonitridu nebo kaboxynitridu, mající tloušťku od 1 do 10 .mi.m.
