Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform normal boosting action by suppressing the improper action of a control circuit 13 caused by the drop of an input DC voltage Vin, in a switched capacitor type stabilization power circuit 11. SOLUTION: This circuit switches the input to a constant voltage circuit 16, which performs power supplying to the control circuit 13, so as to make it as a voltage Vin at a rise of the voltage Vin and as a voltage Vo after the output voltage Vo has risen, by means of a switch S5. Accordingly, once boosting action is started under the condition that the input DC voltage Vin is not less than the action voltage of the control circuit 13, even if the voltage Vin drops, the power voltage to the control circuit 13 is kept not less than the action voltage of the control circuit 13 because it has been switched already into the boosted output voltage Vo, thus this can perform normal boosting action. Moreover, the circuit can be simplified by also using the output of a hysteresis comparator 15, which feeds back the information on the voltage Vo to the control circuit 13 for stabilization of the output voltage, for switching of the switch S5.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light, thinned and inexpensive semiconductor device and production thereof. SOLUTION: In a semiconductor device 11, a semiconductor device 12 and a lead 13 are electrically connected by a wire 14 and the surface of the device 12 is sealed completely by first and second sealing members 15 and 16. First, the semiconductor device 12 is placed on the upper stage of a fixed stand having a step, and the lead 13 is placed on the lower stage. Next, the both are connected electrically by the wire 14. Next, an upper surface 12a of the semiconductor device 12 and a side 12b are sealed by the first sealing member 15. Next, a base 12c of the semiconductor device 12 is sealed by a second sealing member 16. Thus, a light and inexpensive semiconductor device 11 is produced without the use of a lead frame.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degree of coupling for high-voltage input from decreasing in a transformer that has a middle tap and is by tap switching corresponding to an input voltage. SOLUTION: Primary coil winding N1 is divided into low-voltage coil winding N11 and high-voltage coil winding N12 with a middle tap as a center, the low- voltage coil winding N11 is adjacently wound of the secondary coil winding N2, and high-voltage coil winding N12 is wound at the outside, thus obtaining initial degree of coupling when a high-voltage is used. At the same time only the low-voltage coil winding N11 adjacent to the secondary coil winding N2 and hence the degree of coupling from decreasing can be prevented.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish reduction of switching noise and switching loss in a witching power supply circuit for use in a DC-DC converter and the like. SOLUTION: A switching power supply 11 switches the current on the primary side of a pulse transformer T through a switching element Q1 with a duty corresponding to a load, thereby producing a desired voltage on the secondary side. A load status detecting circuit S1 is installed on the secondary side, and the result of the detection is fed back to a primary regulator 12 through a photocoupler PC2. If the load is light, a bypass resistor R11 is connected in parallel with a gate resistor R4 placed in the driving signal line running from a PWM comparator CMP1 to the switching element Q1. With normal load, therefore, switching operation is performed with low noise at a relatively low switching speed defined through the gate resistor R4. During a standby period when switching noise is reduced, the power consumption can be reduced by increasing the switching speed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize low power consumption under light load at low cost while saving the space. SOLUTION: When the output voltage increases and a light load state is detected through a load state detection circuit 20, a voltage is fed back to a converter 15 through a photocoupler comprising a diode D3 and a phototransistor Q2. The oscillation frequency of an oscillation circuit 13 is thereby decreased by an oscillation frequency decreasing circuit 11 in the converter 15 and the frequency of gate pulse being fed to a switching element Q1 is decreased. Consequently, the loss of converter 15 increasing in proportion to the oscillation frequency of switching element Q1 comprising an MOSFET is reduced at low cost through a space saving structure thus reducing power consumption.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simply confirm an overheat protective operation by connecting switching elements to respective potential dividing resistors serially connected to an overheat protective circuit and short-circuiting the corresponding potential dividing resistors when an input terminal control voltage is boosted. CONSTITUTION:A circuit 3 for confirming the protective operation parallelly connects transistors Q4 and Q5 for short-circuiting respectively to the two potential dividing resistors R6 and R7 of the overheat protective circuit 2. Then, by Zener diodes ZD1 and ZD2 serially connected between the base of the transistors Q4 and Q5 and a control voltage input terminal CS, resistors R9 and R11 and the resistors R10 and R12 connected between the base of the transistors Q4 and Q5 and a grounded terminal, conditions for turning on the transistors Q4 and Q5 to the control voltage of the input terminal CS are set. Thus, the overheat protective circuit is operated in a state similar to the case when an ambient temperature rises to a prescribed temperature by turning the control voltage of the input terminal for control to a prescribed value and the operation can be electrically confirmed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply that can reduce an output ripple voltage by changing the oscillation frequency of oscillation signal from an oscillator when an output ripple voltage is detected and this ripple voltage rises. SOLUTION: The amplitude of ripple voltage superimposed on an output A from an output unit 2 is detected with a ripple voltage detecting means 4. The ripple voltage detected in this case is compared, in a comparator 5, with the reference given from a reference voltage generating means 6. When this ripple voltage becomes larger than the reference, the oscillation frequency of a triangular wave F oscillated by an oscillator 3d is changed to become higher with a frequency switching means 7. Moreover, when the ripple voltage detected in the ripple voltage detecting means 4 becomes smaller than the reference given from the reference generating means 6 after returning to the normal condition, the frequency switching means 7 reduces the oscillation frequency of the triangular wave F oscillated from the oscillator 3d to return to the normal condition.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power source circuit the switching loss of which can be reduced further when the load is light. SOLUTION: When a switching power source circuit operates normally, a load current detecting circuit 4f detects a normal load current and sends a detect signal to a switching circuit 4e. The circuit 4e makes a switching element 2a for normal operation perform switching operations, at the duty ratio of a pulse outputted from a PWM comparator 4c by supplying a base current to the element 2a. When a load 6 becomes lighter, the detecting circuit 4f sends a signal indicating a load current for light load to the switching circuit 4e, because the load current decreases. The switching circuit 4e switches the object to be driven from the switching element 2a for normal operations to another switching element 2b for light load, the switching time of which is shorter than that of the element 2a by supplying the base current to the element 2b.
