Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display device in which burn-in is unlikely to occur even when the area of the subpixels is different. Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device which is configured so that one pixel comprises subpixels of a plurality of colors, and which has a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates, wherein: one of the substrates is provided with a scanning line, a signal line, an auxiliary capacitance wire, a thin-film transistor connected to the scanning line and the signal line, and a pixel electrode connected to the thin-film transistor; the other substrate is provided with a counter electrode; a pixel electrode is placed for each subpixel; and the pixel electrode having the widest area among the plurality of pixel electrodes disposed within one pixel is connected to the thin-film transistor having the biggest channel width among the plurality of thin-film transistors disposed in one pixel.

Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device which rarely suffers from image burn-in even if the areas of subpixels are different from each other. Specifically disclosed is a liquid crystal display device, which comprises a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer held between the pair of substrates, and in which one pixel is configured of subpixels of a plurality of colors. One of the pair of substrates comprises: a scan line; a signal line; an auxiliary capacitor line; thin film transistors that are respectively connected to the scan line and the signal line; and pixel electrodes connected to the thin film transistors. The other of the pair of substrates comprises a counter electrode. The liquid crystal layer has a thicker region and a thinner region within one pixel. The pixel electrodes are arranged at respective subpixels, and among a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in one pixel, one pixel electrode overlapping the thinner region of the liquid crystal layer is connected to a thin film transistor that has a larger channel width among the plurality of thin film transistors arranged in the pixel.

Abstract: A color display pixel P CD in a liquid crystal display device ( 100 ) includes first through fourth pixels P 1 through P 4 arrayed in two rows by two columns, and first and second signal lines ( 13a, 13b ) which are located in correspondence with each column of pixels and are supplied with signal voltages of polarities opposite to each other from a signal line driving circuit ( 30 ) in each vertical scanning period. A TFT ( 14 ) of one of the first and third pixel P 1 and P 3 is connected to the first signal line ( 13a ), and a TFT ( 14 ) of the other pixel is connected to the second signal line (1 3 b). A TFT ( 14 ) of one of the second and fourth pixel P 2 and P 4 is connected to the first signal line ( 13a ), and a TFT ( 14 ) of the other pixel is connected to the second signal line ( 13b ). The TFTs ( 14 ) of the first through fourth pixels P 1 through P 4 are controlled to be ON/OFF by a common scanning signal, and the polarities of the signal voltages supplied to the first and second signal lines ( 13a, 13b ) are constant during an arbitrary vertical scanning period. Owing to this, the load on the signal line driving circuit is reduced.
