The present invention is equipped with a USB interface 7 for being connected to a portable music player that is an external device, a browser button 27, a rotary encoder button 26, a back button 28, CPU 31 for acquiring a content list CL from the portable music player, RAM 33 for storing the content list CL acquired by the CPU 31, and a LED processing section 42 for changing how the rotary encoder button 26 illuminates to encourage the next operation at a time when the browse button 27 is operated. Accordingly, when searching pieces of music content stored in the portable music player that is an external device, one can unknowingly understand how to operate, thereby providing good operability even for searching pieces of music content of the external portable music player.

A vehicle mounted device comprising a connection 7 that is connected to an external device such as a portable music player, a browser button 27A to start a process of searching pieces of content, such as music tracks, stored in the external device, a content list acquisition section that when the browser button is operated acquires from the external device a content list having a hierarchical structure. A storage section (33) stores the acquired content list. A rotary encoder button 26 can be rotated to select an item from a list and pushed to move to a lower level of the hierarchy. A third or back button 25 changes what is displayed to a higher level of the menu. A LED or light emitting control section (42) performs operation guidance to prompt the user to do the next operation by changing the light emitting state of the second button when the first button is pressed. The interface to the external device may be USB and the LED may blink.

An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes a detection unit, an acceptance unit, and an image control unit. The detection unit is capable of detecting whether or not each of a plurality of reproduction apparatuses constitutes a group related to reproduction of content, each of the plurality of reproduction apparatuses being connected to a network, each of the plurality of reproduction apparatuses being capable of reproducing the content. The acceptance unit accepts a user operation related to constitution of the group. The image control unit outputs a group state image on the basis of a detection result by the detection unit, the group state image representing a constitution state of the group, the group state image including an image of each of the plurality of reproduction apparatuses, and controls the group state image in response to the accepted user operation related to constitution of the group.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide on-vehicle equipment having further improved security effects than conventional ones. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle equipment detects the mounted or non-mounted condition of a front panel 3. When detecting the non-mounted condition, it performs transition to a security operation controlling condition ST2 which is set to output alarm sounds from a speaker. When detecting the non-mounted condition, it performs transition from the security operation controlling condition ST2 to a security cancelling condition ST1 set to stop the alarm sounds. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproduction device and a content reproduction system, capable of allowing a portable terminal user to switch between sharing and not sharing video contents as needed, and turning on or off the audio contents automatically.SOLUTION: A content reproduction device and content reproduction system includes: a reproduction part for reproducing a video content; a display part for displaying the video content to be reproduced; a communication part for transmitting the video content to a portable type reproduction device on a radio communication; a speaker part having a first speaker disposed in the vicinity of the system, the first speaker containing at least one unit of speakers, and a second speaker disposed in the vicinity of the portable type reproduction device containing at least one unit of speakers; an audio output control part for controlling the reproduction state of the speaker part. When the contents are shared, the first and the second speakers respectively reproduces the audio content pertaining to the video content. When the contents are not shared, the audio output control part controls the audio output so that the second speaker will not reproduce the audio content pertaining to the video content.
