Abstract:
The present invention relates to a content distributing system, a content distributing method, a control apparatus, a control method, a playback apparatus, a playback method, and a program that are capable of improving operability of the control apparatus. A renderer 4 identifies a category of content to be played back and transmits an identification result of the category to a controller 2. In the controller 2, a receiving unit 21 receives the identification result transmitted from the renderer 4, and the display 27 performs a process of allowing a user to recognize a command to provide instructions about handling executable to the content to be played back among commands to provide instructions about handling of content in the renderer 4 based on the identification result. Also, the display 27, which has a function of a touch-panel, accepts an operation of specifying a command by the user.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus, having functions on which use limitations can be imposed, in which a variety of functions are loaded on the electronic apparatus by hardware circuitry or by computer programs. Use of a certain function(s) is limited by setting a function limiting flag to "1", provided that an other function(s) are usable within a period of a preset number of days of possible test use. An application is made from the apparatus to a key issuing source for purchasing usable functions. The key issuing source then issues a limitation removing key. The limitation removing key may be acquired from the key issuing source by a mobile phone terminal and transmitted to the apparatus by infrared ray communication. The apparatus rewrites the function limiting flag by this limitation removing key. If the number of days of actual test use has reached the number of days of possible test use, the CPU of the apparatus does not carry out the function(s) the function limiting flag of which is "1".
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes a detection unit, an acceptance unit, and an image control unit. The detection unit is capable of detecting whether or not each of a plurality of reproduction apparatuses constitutes a group related to reproduction of content, each of the plurality of reproduction apparatuses being connected to a network, each of the plurality of reproduction apparatuses being capable of reproducing the content. The acceptance unit accepts a user operation related to constitution of the group. The image control unit outputs a group state image on the basis of a detection result by the detection unit, the group state image representing a constitution state of the group, the group state image including an image of each of the plurality of reproduction apparatuses, and controls the group state image in response to the accepted user operation related to constitution of the group.
Abstract:
A communication medium with fewer limitations on the directivity or available communication range, such as an IP network, is used to perform a remote control operation. Since two-way communication can be carried out between a remote controller and a device to be operated, it is possible to provide more reliable communication by means of a delivery confirmation, to handle a GUI-based complex command scheme, and to provide large-volume data transmission, such as moving-image streaming, using relatively broad bands. A television receiver to be operated by the remote controller distributes moving-image data, such as a child view, to an IP remote controller through an IP network so that the data can be viewed on the IP remote controller.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, a plurality of apparatuses can be synchronously controlled by a simpler operation. A synchronous control information management unit 87 stores synchronous control information including synchronous operation patterns and synchronous control conditions. In each of the synchronous operation patterns, a procedure for sequentially transmitting control commands to a plurality of apparatuses is defined using a single pattern name. In each of the synchronous control conditions, a condition for selecting one of the synchronous operation patterns is described. A control pattern analysis unit 89 analyzes a synchronous control pattern, sequentially generates control commands used to control apparatuses on the basis of the analysis result, and supplies the generated control commands to a network interface 81 or an infrared communication control unit 90. The present invention can be applied to a reproduction system for reproducing content.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in execution of diagnoses. SOLUTION: The environmental information and identification information can be surely transmitted from the client terminal 2 to the environmental information acquisition server 4 while managing the environmental information by using the identification information by memorizing temporarily current environmental information in response to an input signal when requesting transmission of environmental information at a client terminal 2; transmitting identification information together with temporarily memorized environmental information to an environmental information acquisition server 4 when being capable of communicating with the environmental information acquisition system and registering the environmental information in association with the identification information in the environmental information acquisition server 4, identifying the environmental information by the environmental information acquisition server 4. Thus, improvement of reliability for execution of its diagnoses can be achieved by surely making a diagnosis of the client terminal 2 on the basis of contents of the environmental information identified with the identification information. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily and accurately determine the condition of a network using a terminal device connected to the network and to enable even a user without knowledge of the network to easily and accurately do settings about the network. SOLUTION: When the user directs the start of inspection, the CPU of the terminal device detects the carrier of an Ethernet (R) and connects to a DNS server in accordance with an inspection program to inspect the condition of the network, and after confirmation applies marks 64-57 to the heads of items on a screen 63 which need settings, and presents the items. The user needs to set only these items. To check the connection of the network, the CPU of the terminal device performs a similar inspection upon the user directing the start of the inspection, and presents whether the connection is normal or not on the screen after confirmation. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for recovering communication equipment with which abnormality generated in communication equipment is immediately and surely detected and the communication equipment is automatically reset at the time of abnormality detection. SOLUTION: A device 100 for recovering communication equipment is composed of a communication state detecting means 11 for detecting the communication state of communication equipment 30 while being connected to a communication line 20 for connecting communication equipment 30 such as a modem and communication equipment 40 such as a server, communication abnormality detecting means 12 for detecting abnormality in the communication equipment 30 from the detected communication state, and communication equipment recovering means 13 for directly resetting and recovering the communication equipment 30 when abnormality in the communication equipment 30 is confirmed. Thus, the communication state of communication equipment 30 is monitored all the time, and when abnormality is detected, the communication equipment is automatically reset and recovered.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reproduction order storing method and a its device capable of automatically reproducing optical disks in a predetermined order. SOLUTION: This reproduction order storage device is a device provided with an optical pickup 13, a memory 18 for storing reproduction order information corresponding to respective disk-shaped recording mediums and a system controller 19 which recognizes the disk-shaped recording mediums and collates reproduced information signals with stored reproduction order information and controls the system of the device so as to reproduce the collated information signals based on the reproduction order information. In this device, it is not needed to perform the same operations each time when a recording medium is to be changed to another recording medium and when orders of music are determined for each recording medium, thus operability is enhanced and the reproducing of recording mediums is automatically performed in a predetermined order.
