Abstract:
The invention provides a disk cartridge having an optical disk (2) stored therein. The disk cartridge comprises a cartridge main body (5) formed with a head opening (13) for rotatably storing an optical disk and causing a part of the optical disk to face outward over the inner and outer peripheries, and a shutter member (15) movably attached to the cartridge main body and adapted to open/close the head opening (13). A region in the surface of the cartridge main body on which the shutter member slides and which is disposed across the head opening from a region in which the shutter member moves is formed with a bottomed recess (31) continuous with the head opening to allow a part of the head on the recording and/or reproducing device to enter the bottomed recess (31).
Abstract:
The invention provides a disk cartridge having an optical disk (2) rotatably stored in a cartridge main body (5). One surface of the cartridge main body on its side for insertion in a recording and/or reproducing device is in the form of a substantially semicircular arc (7) with its center located at the center of the optical disk stored in the cartridge main body, making it possible to easily discriminate the direction of insertion in the recording and/or reproducing device, and realizing smooth mounting.
Abstract:
A disk cartridge having a cartridge body (5) for rotatably receiving an optical disk (2) and having an opening (13) for a head, where the opening enables portion, from its inner to outer peripheries, of the optical disk (2) to face outward, a shutter member (15) movably supported by the cartridge body (5) and opening and closing the opening (13), and a bidirectional urging mechanism (38) for selectively urging the shutter member (15) either to the position where the opening (13) is closed or to the position where the opening (13) is opened. The bidirectional urging mechanism (38) urges the shutter member (15) either to the direction to close the opening (13) or to the direction to open the opening (13) depending on the position of the shutter member (15) relative to the opening (13).
Abstract:
A recording medium can judge types of various discs and the write enabled/disabled state. A detection hole of a cartridge has opening/closing means which forms a substantially horizontal plane with respect to a reference plane of the cartridge at the position of the detection hole when the detection hole is in the closed state. Moreover, the cartridge has at least a first and a second detection hole. The second detection hole (H1) is opened/closed by the aforementioned opening/closing means while the first detection hole (H0) is always kept in the open state. In a disc drive device or a disc judgment method, the disc type and the judgment information content (such as write enabled/disabled state) by the detection hole are judged according to the open/closed state of one or more detection holes formed on the cartridge and the disc type detection result obtained by using the signal based on the reflection light from the recording medium mounted.
Abstract:
A DISK CATRIDGE IS PROVIDED WHICH INCLUDES AN OPTICAL DISK (2), A CATRIDGE BODY (5) HAVING FORMED THEREIN A HEAD OPENING (13) THROUGH WHICH A PART OF THE OPTICAL DISK (2) IS EXPOSED TO OUTSIDE IN A RANGE BETWEEN THE INNER AND OUTER RADII THEREOF, A SHUTTER MEMBER (15) SUPPORTED MOVABLY ON THE CATRIDGE BODY (5) TO UNCOVER AND COVER THE HEAD OPENING (13), AND A TWO-WAY FORCING MECHANISM (38) TO FORCE THE SHUTTER MEMBER (15) TOWARD ANY SELECTED ONE OF POSITIONS TO COVER AND UNCOVER THE HEAD OPENING (13). THE TWO-WAY FORCING MECHANISM (38) FORCES THE SHUTTER MEMBER (15) TOWARD ANY SELECTED ONE OF THE POSITIONS TO COVER AND UNCOVER THE HEAD OPENING (13) CORRESPONDINGLY TO A POSITION OF THE SHUTTER MEMBER (15) RELATIVE TO THE HEAD OPENING (13).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a disc cartridge in which is housed an optical disc (2). The disc cartridge includes a main cartridge body unit (5), rotatably housing an optical disc, and having an aperture for a head part (13) for exposing a part of the optical disc to outside across the inner and outer rims of the optical disc, and a shutter unit (15) mounted for movement to this main cartridge body unit for opening/closing the aperture for the head part (13). A recess (31) into which is introduced a portion of a head part of the recording and/or reproducing apparatus is formed in continuation to the aperture for the head part in a surface of the main cartridge body unit on which slides a shutter unit in an area opposite to the area of movement of the shutter unit with the aperture for the head part in-between.
Abstract:
A loading device for a recording medium (200, 201) comprises an ejection member (116) moved by a manual operation, a lock member (115) inhibiting dismounting of the loaded recording medium (200, 201) and releasing inhibition of dismounting of the recording medium (200, 201) by said lock member (115) being moved, an ejection transmission piece (113) mounted for movement between a transmission position in which the ejection transmission piece (113) is intruded into a movement trajectory of said ejection member (116) and a transmission releasing position in which the ejection transmission piece (113) is receded out of the movement trajectory, said ejection transmission piece (113) when in said transmission position being moved by movement of said ejection member (116) for moving said lock member (115), and movement means (95) for moving said ejection transmission piece (113) between the transmission position and a transmission release position, wherein, except during recording or reproduction of information signals on or from the recording medium (200, 201), said movement means (95) puts said ejection transmission piece (113) at said transmission position, and wherein, during recording or reproduction of information signals on or from the recording medium (200, 201), said movement means (95) puts said ejection transmission piece (113) at said transmission release position.
Abstract:
A disk drive unit includes a disk stabilizer block supporting a reading and/or writing head. The disk stabilizer block is formed a surface to sealingly contact with a mating surface of the disk. At least one void is formed on the disk stabilizer block for defining a chamber around the reading and/or writing head, in which Bernoulli drawing force is generated for drawing a flexible storage medium disk. The void reduces contact area between the stabilizer block and the disk for avoiding influence of tolerance in production of the stabilizer block and influence of waving of the disk during rotation.
