Abstract:
The present invention provides a disc cartridge protecting member capable of closing a write and/or read aperture larger relative to the size of the disc cartridge and protecting a disc housed in the disc cartridge, such as optical disc used as an information recording medium. The disc cartridge protecting member includes an aperture closing plate which is to be fitted in, and to close, an aperture formed at one side of a disc cartridge having a disc housed rotatably therein and through which part of the disc is exposed to outside in a range between inner and outer radii thereof, an entry limiting portion supported on supports provided in the aperture formed in the disc cartridge to prevent the aperture closing plate from entering the disc cartridge, a cover plate extending on the other side of the disc cartridge opposite to the one side at which the aperture is formed, and a connecting plate to connect the base end of the aperture closing plate and that of the cover plate to each other. The protecting member is installed removably with the disc cartridge being held between the aperture closing plate and cover plate.

The present invention provides a disc cartridge protecting member 21 capable of closing a write and/or read aperture 13 larger relative to the size of the disc cartridge and protecting a disc housed in the disc cartridge, such as optical disc used as an information recording medium. The disc cartridge protecting member includes an aperture closing plate 22 which is to be fitted in, and to close, an aperture formed at one side of a disc cartridge having a disc housed rotatably therein and through which part of the disc is exposed to outside in a range between inner and outer radii thereof, an entry limiting portion (25) supported on supports (18) provided in the aperture formed in the disc cartridge to prevent the aperture closing plate from entering the disc cartridge, a cover plate 23 extending on the other side of the disc cartridge opposite to the one side at which the aperture is formed, and a connecting plate 24 to connect the base end of the aperture closing plate and that of the cover plate to each other. The protecting member is installed removably with the disc cartridge being held between the aperture closing plate and cover plate.
Abstract:
The invention provides a disk cartridge having an optical disk (2) rotatably stored in a cartridge main body (5). One surface of the cartridge main body on its side for insertion in a recording and/or reproducing device is in the form of a substantially semicircular arc (7) with its center located at the center of the optical disk stored in the cartridge main body, making it possible to easily discriminate the direction of insertion in the recording and/or reproducing device, and realizing smooth mounting.
Abstract:
A recording medium can judge types of various discs and the write enabled/disabled state. A detection hole of a cartridge has opening/closing means which forms a substantially horizontal plane with respect to a reference plane of the cartridge at the position of the detection hole when the detection hole is in the closed state. Moreover, the cartridge has at least a first and a second detection hole. The second detection hole (H1) is opened/closed by the aforementioned opening/closing means while the first detection hole (H0) is always kept in the open state. In a disc drive device or a disc judgment method, the disc type and the judgment information content (such as write enabled/disabled state) by the detection hole are judged according to the open/closed state of one or more detection holes formed on the cartridge and the disc type detection result obtained by using the signal based on the reflection light from the recording medium mounted.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a disk cartridge including a disk; a cartridge body in which the disk is rotatably accommodated, the cartridge body having a recording and/or reproducing window for exposing a part of the disk; a shutter mounted on the cartridge body so as to be movable between a closed position where the window is closed by the shutter and an open position where the window is opened by sliding the shutter; a shutter locking member adapted to engage a locking portion of the cartridge body when the shutter is in the closed position, thereby limiting the movement of the shutter in the direction of opening the window; a biasing member provided on the shutter for biasing the shutter locking member in the direction of engaging the shutter locking member with the locking portion of the cartridge body; and a deformation preventing member provided in the cartridge body at a position inside of the biasing member for preventing the deformation of the biasing member inward of the cartridge body.
Abstract:
A disc recorder/reproducer (101) comprising a chassis (103) supporting a holder (102) containing a disc cartridge rotatably, an eject lever (105) provided on the chassis movably in the inserting/drawing direction of the di sc cartridge and movably in the approaching/receding direction to/from the chassis and being pushed by the disc cartridge (1) inserted into the holder to rotate, and a cartridge falling preventive means (221) for preventing the di sc cartridge (1) ejected by the eject lever (105) from falling off from the cartridge holder (102). The falling preventive means (221) is provided on on e side face (102b) of the holder and comprises a leaf spring for imparting a brake force to the disc cartridge by sliding on one side face (3b) thereof a t the time of discharging the cartridge. Consequently, the disc cartridge can be prevented from projecting from the cartridge holder and falling.
